Dear RT,

Thank you for contacting Congressman Culberson with your request for inauguration tickets. I have added your name to our list of constituents.

Congressional offices hand out inauguration tickets on a first-come first-served basis. You will receive an email from me in late-November letting you know if you and your guests will be receiving tickets. Constituents who will be receiving tickets will then be notified by email on January 12th regarding the status of the distribution of tickets. All persons receiving tickets will have to come by Congressman Culberson’s Houston office or Washington, D.C. office by 5:00pm on January 16th to collect them. If the tickets are not picked up by this time, then all tickets will be given to the next group of guests on the list.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any further questions regarding the inauguration.

Best,

Staff Assistant
Congressman John Culberson (TX-07)

Smashing, although, a few times, back in the day, after a looong night out, I walked out of both of Garrets and the Tombs (not at the same time) into sunlight. so it wouldnt be the first time.

Happy 75th anniversary of the end of prohibition!

Drink up!

I know it's a faceless partner, but this still is sad particularly for the family:

Officer Hilliard should be ashamed of himself.

Surprisingly, I was always well behaved at the memorials and museums in DC. Unless you count the old RFK as a memorial. I had a little brush with the law there, which involved expressive behaviour.

Kind of a cheat to use Dulles. Then again, DCA has bogus-low totals.

Overheard, Mr. Plow edition

In Northeast D.C. last Sunday:

An SUV with blaring rap music turns into an unplowed side street and gets stuck. A man walks over to offer a push, asking if he needs help.

Driver, yelling over the music, "I don't need no help! I got front wheel drive and Tupac!"

It takes him five more minutes of forward and reverse tire spinning before he finally gets unstuck, then goes down one more block and gets stuck again.

I thought about taking the Metro last week, but I was unsure about the level of air conditioning (I'm a sweater, no offence). Guidance?

Good choice.

Even if you're dry as a bone, you'll sweat.
