You know, when this first happened, the image in my mind was of a very fit, snowboarder-looking daredevil kind of guy. The kind of former auto parts salesman who rides an Italian motorcycle. I saw my first picture of him today. I didn't realize the infamous Niagara Falls jumper was the Second Coming of Ron Jeremy.

What offhand remarks might Terri have made after reading about Terry Wallis, the Canadian man who just last summer awoke from a 19-year coma?

Or how about that case in Minnesota last year where the guy who'd been in a coma for decades suddenly reappeared and ran for Senate? What was his name? Walter Mondale?

You forget that there was a little episode called 9/11 that should cause any reasonable person (including yours truly) to reevaluate their position on this. I have posted this before, but I continue to believe that the central difference between the parties these days is that the left believes 9/11 was an isolated event that changed little, and the right (rightly) believes that 9/11 was the defining event for the beginning of the new century, which requires thinking outside the box.

If by "thinking outside the box" you mean "no longer thinking isolationism is a viable or sensible policy," you may have a point . . . of course, the left wasn't isolationist to begin with so in that respect 9/11 didn't really change their worldview.
