Her boyfriend is perpetually treading the last three fingers of a bottle of Thunderbird and feverishly fingering a tin foil packet of crystal meth. But when he's rocking out to "Life in the Fast Lane" and and his eyes happen across those Polaroids of his woman, straddling the front of his 85 Blazer, wearing nothing but a Cowboy hat, and the fumes from the meth stil waft just below his nose, he does think to himself, "she's purty."

That's a styling thing. It takes a certain personality to have buttons like that, let alone that hair. Disqualified on personality grounds. Plus he's way, WAY too old.

I bet identical twin sister of prison lady's hair smells nice right after it's been washed. And her skin is probably very soft (the layers of fat under it help). And she may be a nice person. Her boyfriend associates her face with happy things like orgasms and comfort. She's pretty to him.

Well, we do need some regulation, but I'd personally like to see just about 99.9% of bureaucrats thrown in front of a speeding bus. I can't stomach procedure. I think in theory bureacracy and regs work fine, but in practice, the system is built to be abused by the lazy and inept. You've got to admit there is nothing worse than trying to wring a decision out of a pack of scared shitless middle managers. I've blown up at meeting and almost said "Make a fucking decision!" These people should be accountable and they're not. They need to be reviewed rigorously and fired when they don't produce anything other than more regs and policy memos.

If I fuck up, I get fired. Why should so many sods in the middle of govt and big business be allowed to be so inefficient and counterprocudtive?

You have to have procedures to do things consistently across many, many people. Consistency is, generally speaking, fairer than inconsistency. Inconsistency leads to lawsuits, which are higher in costs than having a procedure.

I agree that it can get out of hand and that some people take it too far, but shit, would you want people who can't even really figure out how a procedure works to have discretion over each individual decision?????

There's a perfect middle, but its so rarely hit. My view is also jaded because of where I live. The "system" in this state is really quite despicable. Its rancid mix of laziness and corruption pretty much through and through.

2. Sebastian. Why don't you people throw out that law? I've driven hours in Pa. trying to find a place that would sell me something to knock me in the head after a night with the in-laws. How does someone with a nasty little drinking problem get by there day to day? Are Pennslyvanians just good planeers?

Oh, Lord no. My gripe isn't institutional. Its really quite simple and straightforward. I just want the sort of person who collects checks and does nothing to be wiped out of the economy as much as possible. I have this goofy naive notion that if we could remove the sort of person who just wants to milk the system from the system (or at least try), we could effect a changed mentality, which might cause some real progressive forward thinking and scientific development. Imagine if all the wasted plasma lying around office floors sucking down checks doing nothing was forced to think and possible develop something, be it revenue, an idea, an innovation, anything. We might leapfrog as a society.

Sorry. No photos.

BERLIN - German police, alerted to a potential kidnapping, “freed” a man from a car trunk only to discover the would-be victim was actually a willing sex slave, authorities said on Thursday.

Police stopped the car after a concerned caller told them he had seen a woman locking someone in the trunk. However, on opening it, they were greeted by the sight of the 39-year-old man wearing nothing but a leather thong and a collar.
