Uh, I mean, I think that anything is going to change stuff, so all we can do is figure out the method with the least impact.

Hydro doesn't just impact salmon, it changes the entire whatever-ology (hydrology/biology/etymology/physiognomy) of the rivers on which there are dams. I think the dams are not only for power, though -- also used to let big-ass ships go way far inland.

Reel push mower. Purchased at Home Depot c. 2002 when I bought the house, about $100 total purchase price.

Upside: Felt much better about my carbon footprint. Didn't have to pull any cords to start motor or pouring and/or mixing gasoline/oil. Noise was minimal.

not to be a timmy, but the only environmentally friendly way to manage a lawn is to have grazing livestock over it. when you cut and discard, or even compost, you are wasting the potential energy stored in the lawn. And somewhere other crops are grown to feed the animals that could have eaten your grass.

Burger. We have a small flock of sheep. 6,000 square feet yard. We slaughter them in October and buy anew in March.

Livestock generate methane.

2008 BMW 135i vs. 335i.
  • After testing BMW 135i and 335i coupes back-to-back, I can reveal that there are only two good reasons to purchase the smaller, cheaper car. Either you need a track day machine or you're an idiot.

triangle-hair chick was in there twice with the (parents'?) orange car. Cheaters.

Other than that, I really really really liked it.

I really really really wanted to beat this guy up and take his car. And his suit. And probably his Italian girlfriend.

Speaking of, I've developed a car crush on the new Bullitt Mustang even though the rational part of my brain knows it's a gimmick. Still, me wantee.

I drove Guadalupe Canyon Road eastbound this afternoon, and there was one of these coming the other way -- obviously a new owner, tracing the route from the movie. No word on whether the owner had arranged for a Dodge Charger to crash into a gas station and ASPLODE! in Brisbane.

Huh. I felt lost in the second paragraph. It was like trying to decipher BK attorneys talking over cocktails. At first, you think there may be something interesting they are talking in code about, but then you realize that what is going on is a couple middleaged losers talking __.

The Can-Am Spyder.

I saw two of these things motoring around Hermosa Beach the other day and wondered what the hell they were. (And, despite the fact that the Hermosa Magic & Comedy Club was right there, the driver of this thing was not Jay Leno.)

Looked pretty cool, though with the two front wheels, the freaky factor was pretty high.

I used to live 2 blocks from there! 602 Hermosa Avenue, baybee.

God, that was a long time ago.
