I think you may actually be able to order one of the initiation kits there, but you probably need a credit card.
You are so helpful, mr. fish. Are you angling for one of the initiation kits or something?

Fringey -- thank you for alerting any would-be wooers to the perils of punctuation. What would I do without your careful screening.

Firenze, baby

Barca's got the better football team, a kick-ass Dali museum 2 hours outside of town, and (arguably) cuter babes, but that's about it. For the food, the art, rooms with a view, gotta be Florence.

You are right to be troubled. That's something, I suppose. Different spellings indicate different meanings. Clearly, you didn't receive a kit; I'm not sure I can do anything about it in your case.

2 to everything here--I haven't been to Barcelona, but your biggest problem with Florence is likely to be feeling like your time there is too short. If you can work out a way to spend a month there in the off-season, do it.

tm

PS And don't miss spending a chunk of time looking over the city from the Piazza Michelangelo--the beautiful Puccini arias from A Room with a View will start replaying in your head unbidden.

The trains in both places are risky propositions. I would suggest that he ride bikes. Or kayak.

Speaking of - I saw a real, live coyote crossing the highway this weekend.

Although I didn't realize it was a coyote. TV has taught me that coyotes are always carrying large packages from Acme.

I would agree that the Jets and Giants uniforms are among the better ones, but I didn't see them cracking top five -- although I'm more of a fan of the classic uniforms. I had a really hard time keeping the Colts out of the top five for that reason. And I'm partial to the Browns uniforms too, although, again, I'm biased -- in quite a different direction from my bias re: the Steelers, I might add.

By far, the worst uniforms ever were the "Men-in-black" themed atrocity worn by the Ravens: http://us.news2.yimg.com/us.yimg.com...ens_baf110.jpg

And, oh, I am very upset that despite my very expensive, borderline-1st-tier-school legal education, I am still in a dead end job.

I thought it was a treadmill, but it turns out it's a conveyor belt and at the end they push you off. How do I get one of those cushy perma-counsel jobs?

One of the best things about it. But pack comfortable shoes. Those cobblestones are a killer -- esp. if it rains.

(Of course, one should buy new shoes while there, but you don't want to have to break them in.)

I have to say I'm a little surprised that no one would go to Barcelona. I've been to Florence, a long time ago, but I've never been to Spain.

Well, I would go to Barcelona because I was just in Florence in December (actually, I would probably go to Croatia) but if I were not actually I and had not actually just been there, I would go to Florence.

I once lived with a woman from Florence and two women from Barcellona (as well as a guy from Malta and a couple of chicks from Germany - it was like the UN in a way too small house).

Based on my admittedly small sample, I'd have to say the ladies from Barcellona were not nearly as insane as Florence. That Italian chick was, as Sebby would put it, crazy as a sack of cats.

She was more fun to fuck? But it sounds like you were more in favor of the Barcellona women.

I'm confused here.

I've spent more time in Spain than Italy, but I've been to Italy more recently. Of the two, it would take much less persuading to get me to pull up stakes and move to a villa in Tuscany so I can finish* my novel.

On behalf of Houston, I apologize to any of you who had any Texans on your fantasy team. Kudos to anyone who had Buffalo's D and Lindell as kicker.

Alas, I had sex with none of them, as the additional unnamed roommate was my gf.

I'd imagine though that the Italian would be better in bed. But you'd also be more likely to wake up with her standing over you waving a salmon in the air and screaming about how she's going to kill you. In Italian.

So yeah, I'd go with the Barcellonians.

Of course, if hooking up with chicks is not one's top priority, or if complete insanity doesn't bother you, I'd put myself in the Florence camp.

I was surprise to find out that that song was written by Hoyt Axton and sung by Elvis. I always thought that 3 Dog Night was responsible.

Or a Matt Hasslebeck meltdown. Nothing like consistency.

And I thought having the Ravens as defense was a good idea. Until that bastard Payton Manning showed up in the 3rd quarter.

FYI, my boyfriend, who has his priorities straight, says that the women are way hotter in Spain. But he fought the hypothetical and thinks Mallorca would be best (not any part where the English are).
