Not sure Greg should have thought those remarks would stay off the record. Or was that his plan?

If his plan, suggests to me that he is not sticking around.

Why would SBF fight extradition, given that bail was denied? Is a Bahamian jail really nicer than a US jail?

Who would be insane enough to take on the Donnager in CQB?

I’ve heard that prison only serves boxed wine?

Genuinely don't know how this speaker mess is going to work out. I thought the insurrectionists would be backing Trump by now, but have decide TFG knows he can't actually get enough votes and doesn't want to take another L. At the same time, they don't seem to have actual demands that can be met, so it's hard for Kev to cave fast enough to bring this to an end.

The mistake that many people are making is believing that the insurrectionists have some set of substantive demands that could be met. They don't. Their conservatives is about performative opposition. Blocking McCarthy is the whole point. They are in Congress to make noise and a name for themselves, to position themselves to make money in the right-wing grift machine, not to legislate.

What if Bill Gates wasn't the one inserting micro-chips in our brains?

What if it was really Elon Musk all along?

If Pelosi can pick up a few saner R votes can she be speaker (or some other D)? I mean you just need a majority right?

It would be Jeffries (who would likely have a slightly easier time doing it too), but there aren't really people interested in that kind of career suicide and even if there were, seems like that coalition would fall apart pretty quickly once the legislating starts. Would be fun from my perspective, though.

This question and answer is a good example of Murc's Law. Hank suggests that Pelosi or some other Democrat might pick up a few GOP votes, as if how GOP Congressmen vote is something that a Democrat could control. He might instead ask, what could McCarthy offer Democrats to make him speaker without the support of the Freedom Caucus, a much more interesting question since it's something McCarthy could actually choose to do instead of what he has been doing. But that would violate Murc's Law.
