Commuter tax
Okay, so how is it unconstitutional for congress to bar a commuter tax in DC, when DC is a creation of the constitution itself, which gives congress the authority to govern it?

Edited to add: Never mind. Found the answer. If you are not a resident of Virginia, but work in Virginia (i.e. Alexandria or Tysons) you do not have to file a Virginia tax return. Well, now that the issue is answered, what are D.C.'s prospects of having Maryland and Virginia tax D.C. resident's income and then take that part away??? |

And, if VA/MD only enacted a tax on people who work there, DC could start a campaign to get their residents to pay their DC income taxes in full, and then take that as a credit against their liability to VA or MD. These DC taxation folks really need to get over it, and address the core issue: Congress either needs to pay a lot more to cover the city's expenses or pay maryland a massive amount of money to take back all of DC except for a small downtown area. |

Kinda sad. And pretty accurate what they say about not being able to efficiently restart construction if or when money ever becomes available.
