hmm. I have an aversion to the word feel used in the wrong context. Like "I feel that we should do something different" or "I feel that is wrong." It's stupid. You think these things, you don't feel them. So regardless of its origins, "I feel you" rubbed me the wrong way. Nails on a chalkboard.

But will you rub her the right way? Flinty's documenting it, so let's get it right.

Urban Outfitters

I thought Abercrombie was the one with the offensive t-shirts?

An official with the Anti-Defamation League wants the retailer to stop selling the shirt because it suggests that ”Mexico is a dirty place.” Urban Outfitters has run into similar controversy before. Last year, it stopped sales of a T-shirt that read, “Everyone Loves a Jewish Girl,” surrounded by dollar signs. The Anti-Defamation League objected to that one, too.

It also angered pro-voting groups with a shirt that said, “Voting is for Old People.”

The death of the jock strap

The thrill of victory, indeed!
I'm calling BS. If you hit yourself with your ball, it's at least a 1 stroke penalty, maybe 2. That plus the negative yard drive means NO BIRDIE. It's more likely in fact that you whiffed.

str8outtacraigslist

So I had my first experience selling something on craigslist today. Very good tickets for a concert tomorrow for face value (plus $10 per ticket in Ticketmaster surcharge actually paid). Why does anyone (other than brokers who miraculously end up with bunches of excellent tickets to every show) ever do this for a side business? I spent about half of my day e-mailing with people of various levels of flakatude, and then had to go meet the lucky winner with the tickets outside of my building. 2 hours of billable time lost.

Why, str8, why? How much mark-up do you need to have to make this a worthwhile use of your time?

eBay's somewhat easier, in the sense that I don't have to move my ass from my desk. But they charge fees.

I no longer buy tickets unless I expect to make upwards of $40/ticket on them. For that amount of money, I'll deal with the flakes. I don't find it that big of an inconvenience to walk outside for a few minutes and meet someone. As I'm often leaning into car windows and coming out with cash, the security guards think I'm a drug dealer.

When I was just starting out, I was trying to arbitrage White Stripes tickets for about $10 profit each, and running around meeting people all over the city. Granted I needed the money, but it probably wasn't worth it.

You should have worked the gloryholes, Slave told me the profit margin is very high. No offence.

Chopped nuts, usually walnuts, mixed with honey, cinnamon, nutmeg, and the like, then stuffed into a pie. Rather disgusting, actually.
