This time, the price will be the same for business as coach because of Amex's companion ticket program. That should help in a much better way than the non-putting-out Cathay Pacific stewardess did.

2. Also, the "while I was in Singapore" implies a later meeting. this post is full of holes.

rental, or did you have a place there?

I stayed with family when I was there last time. I'm staying with the same family before Bali when I go this time.

one great thing about business class on Cathay is their airport clubs. the one in Hong Kong has a chef that makes noodles to order.

Unfortunately, can't afford Cathay. Flying JAL.

Can't speak to it, but Singapore Air had the best coach class I have ever flown.

*And I found this out from a friend whose parents lived in Singapore and who flew Cathay a lot. He said, "She seemed very nice and friendly, didn't she?"

Me: Yeah. So?

Him: Did she sit down next to you?

Me: Yes. How did...

Him: Did she offer to give you her number to get together?

Me: Yes!

Him: You fucked up. She wanted to screw. She didn't want even a short-term relationship. Over here, that's the equivalent of a girl walking up to you and grabbing your cock and saying, "Fuck me."

Me: Crap.

I have many great Singapore stories that make me look studly when really I was just a jerkoff who worked for free at the US Embassy, had access to a ridiculous house and car and knew a couple of locals really well that hooked me up.

Oh, and they're playing the Canucks next.*

*The Columbus Blue Jackets, actually. But that's not as funny.

My youngest always wants the Indians to win when they're playing, because they have a smile on their hats.

I think the Toronto Maple Leafs logo is the most offensive. It's a blue maple leaf, for heaven's sake. BLUE!! Offensive to green and red and orange and yellow and brown maple leaves everywhere.

Something similar happened to a buddy of mine with a bartender that we all wanted to nail (but without intercultural confusion). They went back to his place after close (he lived above the bar). He ended up talking to her all night. Things got emotional. She cried about something or the other. At 5 AM, she left, telling him on the way out that "I just thought we were going to fuck".

We still give him a hard time about it.

I can't figure out whether the Oilers are offensive or titilating.

I have a dream that trees will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their leaves but by the content of their character.

TV question

Does anyone know why my TV picture is all of a sudden fucked up? It's a newish (year old) flat screen. I went away on vacation last week, and when I came back, when I watch a non-HD channel, if there are words at the bottom or top of the screen, they get cut off. For example, if I am watching my beloved Pat Kiernan on NY1, not in HD, I cannot see what temperature it is outside because it is cut off. Also the top of his head is cut off. (I can still hear his dulcet tones reading me "In the Papers" though, thank god.) If I watch him in HD, there are bars on each side of him because I guess NYI does not do HD very well.

Does anyone know what I am talking about and why this might have happened and how I can fix it? I've gone to "picture options" on my TV and scrolled through them and none of them fix the problem. It's on 16:9 right now.
