I don't know. It pretty much matches my meory of the 90's. A lot of crap that totally fucking unbearable, a few classics, and a whole lot of mediocrity. As a collection, it gives a fairly accurate sample of what the decade served up.

I agree with sebby that Carrell does a good job in it. And it is thankless to try to redo something that was excellently already done by someone else. He brings more smarminess to the part, I think.

You have a good point there, except for Violent Femmes, which was really an 80's band, at least in the States, and Hole, which just plain sucked ass.

I think it's Jane's Addiction in a rout. No contest. I'm putting Ritual de lo Habitual on my "top five most meaningful albums to me" list (along with Let's Dance, Lion and the Cobra, Doggystyle, and Yankee Hotel Foxtrot). But I'm genuinely curious what other people have to think.

I think he did one season, although most of his memorable tv work was on SCTV. When I referred to SNL alums, I was thinking of Myers and Ferrell.

While I agree that Ritual has held up, I would argue that "Siamese Dreams" and "Badmotorfinger" are equally strong and remain so to this day.
