The one fruit and cake combo I cannot stand it's not chocolate, but I cannot stand Pannetone and I know that's blasphemy but the whole taste is like bleh. And I like Torrone as well.

I had chocolate cake from Wegman's this weekend. Just chocolate cake, with chocolate frosting and no fruit shmutz anywhere near the cake.

It was the finest cake I have ever tasted. I will be dreaming about that cake for weeks.

Ty had a conundrum over whether to go with the boxed wine or skip the box and just go with the mylar sack o'wine. Is that ironic or coincidental?

I use Canadian dollars. The clerk is a little dim and I told her it was the new twenty.

I think they sold off the name and stuff for conundrum. it was more than they could handle. but I may be wrong.

Just plain chocolate cake with chocolate frosting is good. Chocolate cake with raspberry as stuff between the layers is good. They are not the same thing, however.

You know that warm chocolate torte type thing with warm raspberry drizzle it's like the size of a furniture anti scuff thing...and looks about the same in those chi chi restaurants...that stuff is good.

No. Molten chocolate cake. Yum. I mean, if we are going for the gold standard.

I don't like raspberry drizzle.

Weird that.

There used to be a poster named bacon . . .

Clearinghouse

Chocolate should only have nut or caramel accompaniment.

Don't give frozen coconut candy to children.

Don't give coconut candy to children, period.

The only watchable things from SNL were the Borat cold open and Beck's songs. Here's "Clap Hands" on YouTune (this version differs in that there are neither puppets nor a harmonica)

How can you not like Naan?

How can you not like sandwiches? Does the bread not contribute to the sandwich? Otherwise, why not roll your turkey in lettuce like a heathen*?

Why no love from The Chronicle for 3rd Bass? And when has "Jump Around" failed to get people moving when played in a bar? I like Yo La Tengo as much as the next asthmatic, but there's nothing wrong with a damn fine pop song, and there's room in the hip hop tent for white boys not in the Beastie Boys or named Eminem. They really should just close down The Chronicle and give the website to Tim Goodman for his television column & blog. After a month, San Francisco wouldn't miss the paper at all.

Just to clarify, Vanilla Ice still sucks.

* For the purposes of this post and for obscure reasons, heathen actually means Sidney Lumet.

Bottom line on Chocolate:

If it is not Chocoate it is not dessert.

Things to go with Chocolate:

Cinnamon
Ginger
Vanilla
Carmel
Cream
Whipping Cream
Crème Brule
Marshmallow
Mint
Coffee

Things not to go with Chocolate:

Fruit of any kind
Nuts

Milk Chocolate = Chocolate. Dark Chocolate = Chocolate for freaks.
