Yes, one of BMI's problems is that at the extreme ends of the scale, it is less accurate. Like I said in the post to which this was a reply. Like most more or less linear formulas, it underestimates correct weight for tall people, and overestimates on the short end.

On the other hand, I have been 6'4" and 152 pounds. I was surprisingly vital.

I was told by one of my wife's co-workers that some cracker-ass cracker actually tried to pick her up in the Staten Island ferry terminal(!) by letting her know, about three sentences into their entirely one-sided conversation, that he was "you know, really into the sistahs and everything." I definitely plan to hit Halle with that line the next time I see her on the subway platform.
It should work for you. I hear she's really into pathetic middle-aged white boys from the outer boroughs who like to pretend they got street cred by talking all ghetto and using terms like "sistahs" an' shit, aaiight?

You feel me?

Your "angry guy" schtick isn't really even worthy of the name. It is pretty funny in a pencil-neck-four-eyes-spindly-limbed-pasty-faced-dork-trying-to-come-across-all-hard kind of way. But it's not you. Keep working on your BMI.

Trailer for Brokeback Mountain. I'm going to be bawling like a baby when this comes out.

I didn't know that Larry McMurtry was involved in writing the screenplay, but I'm not surprised.

BMI has a lot of problems, not the least of which is that it breaks down on the edges (it's not very accurate for short, and particularly, very tall people). It also fails to account for high muscle mass in people who are in very, very good shape.

It's easier to calculate than bodyfat percentage, however.

Regardless, the doctor was right, I needed to drop the weight. My point in citing the BMI was that I wasn't off the charts heavy when my doctor lectured me. At my size, the difference between "normal" and "obese" is only about 35 pounds, and the vast majority of people in the world would have even less leeway.
The Bod Pod is where it's at with respect to body fat and lean tissue mass:

Six Feet Under

Greetings and Salutations

Was the finale discussed here? I did a quick search using "six", "SFU" and "6FU" as terms but got nachos. I caught it last night and am severely haunted.

SPOILER

I think my favorite shot was of Ruth, her sister and Bettina sitting on chaise lounges, laughing, while dogs ran around. It was like some kind of secret society of aging spinsters having themselves a ball, making a buck off the people who have the money to indulge3 their pups. Brilliant.

Why did they have to have Keith shot? I mean, I know why, but couldnt it have been George or someone? Why wasnt Keith wearinb a bulletproof vest?

Did Billy whack Ted?

Where was Lisa?

Where do you go to have your bf percentage tested? I mean, practically speaking. My gyms do not offer it (apart from calipers, which is unreliable), those Tanita things give me wildly differing measurements and most universities seem to only offer testing in studies, which are hard to get into.

I have been curious for a while about it.

Don't mention it. As poorly as you treat me, I am always trying to include you in the conversation with little cues and hints so you won't feel so defensive and embarrassed all the time.
