I'd ask Red Sox fans but they may be too bitter to answer me right now, so instead I throw the question open to the entire fb community. Even bilmore.
I have no goddamned idea but we're New Englanders and we look like a pack of fucking idiots wearing cowboy hats or even yelling something so clearly outside our planet (which yes, does consist of a handful of small states, which we like just fine thanks).

And Pedro can stop his swooning over his own gloriousness--his petulant asshole antics, already obnoxious, unsportsmanlike and intolerable, are now also unjustifiable. Clemens, however, showed dignity, humility, and respect for his team by leaving when he was choking--even as a Sox fan, I say he gets my vote for this game.

Yes, and thanks to him for not having that figured out in 1986.

For some reason, the Sox are like nannies. The kids are mannerless, twisted little goons in our care, then the next person steps in to take care of 'em and all of a sudden they're almost human beings. WTF?

oy vey. My bad, you're good. I knew I shouldn't have watched that damned Rangers game the other night -- you damned Yankees have too many teams to keep track of. There were still crappy calls in the Thrashers' game -- such an obvious trip in the end of regulation and the ref just stood there.
I would like to retract my retraction, we did tie the Rangers (in an outstanding game, I must say).

Apparently I am psychic. The line forms on the left. Cash only, please.

I feel somewhat responsible for losses of the Cubs and Sox and if I had an apology to spare I would use it here. I was too focused on the hockey this week and let everyone down. My bad.

James Garner to Guide Post-Ritter 'Rules'

LOS ANGELES - James Garner (news) is taking on what is likely one of the television season's most challenging roles: steering ABC's "8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter" through the transition of John Ritter (news)'s death.

The 75-year-old Garner, who starred in the '50s "Maverick" TV series, will guest star in four episodes, his publicist, Jennifer Allen, said Thursday.

Ritter, who died of a heart ailment last month, played a harried dad and newspaper columnist on the show. Garner will help the transition to a new focus — a family coping with the sudden loss of its patriarch.

Future Guest Stars will include Pope John Paul II, Ronald Reagan and Courtney Love.

Holy shit is Grady Little the worst manager ever.

Said by me last night: "Jesus, Pedro is getting rocked - he probably hasn't thrown over 100 pitches in months! GET HIM OUT OF THERE!" Nope. Didn't happen.

Also, when they brought Wakefield in: "It's too cold for a knuckleballer- this decision will end it for the Sox."

And who would have predicted Aaron Boone would go long for the win? I watched him a lot in Cincy games and although he seems to have some of the shit even I with my psychic abilities (perhaps they only apply to hockey) just didn't expect him to be the one to win it all for the Yanks. Good for Aaron, I mean Brett, I mean Aaron.......I mean whatever that guy interviewing him said. :D

Ok what the hell are they thinking. How do you take a comedy and turn it into a show about dealing with the death of a husband and father.

No doubt the issues surrounding the death of a parent and spouse are important and need to be explored, but in a comedy?

It's downright disgusting.

Looks like Brett has been supplying Aaron with the HGH, EPO, testoterone and anabolic steroids that Brett has been using for years...

(it is amazingly satisfying to taunt losers when you have no team that you like)
Look, after a few decades, you'll do just about anything to win. Mayor Mennino would have ridden a bucking bronco in Fenway to show support for this team. The silver lining is that we'll stop hearing that (I hope) now.

Red Sox fans are good at losing. And for all Grady Littles' faults, you've got to hand to to Torre. He managed every angle, and there were no toddlers among the Yankees last night. Unlike many past Red Sox chokes, that was a game the Yankees won, not one the Red Sox lost.

Is Brett the most useless addition to a broadcasting booth ever? His one saving grace is that he rarely spoke, so that we didn't have to hear too many of his useless observations.

And, BTW, how short is Kenny Albert?

It's motiviation by humiliation: Giambi gets knocked down to 7th in the order, rips off two home runs. Boone gets left out of the starting line-up altogether, and once he's finally put in, rips a game winning homerun.

It pains me to say it (like a hot poker in the eye), but it was genius.
