Agreed. Good catch. Also, there's no Tarantino, whose movies are widely quoted, and no Coen brothers. And while I find it obnoxious, I expected to see some Austin Powers quotes.

Dissent. I like Starbucks coffee well enough, but of the major chains, I would take Peets or Seattle's Best over it. Possibly Cariboo coffee too (although they are not here). Tully's, six of one.......

Some of us don't have any other options. The local cafes here are in the more neighborhoody-type areas. In the Loop, you get Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts.

Especially since they won't toast them for you.

I like (most of) the people at my most frequently used starbucks. I have not found a pastry I particularly like at coffee tea beanleaf.
I think you're right. They have to be made and distributed locally because the quality varies a lot depending on which city you're in.

Argh!!! A good fresh bagel needs no toasting!

Philistines and rubes, that's what you are, you people who toast fresh bagels.

No, I'm thinking of Starbucks. If I even walk past a Peet's, I start vibrating from the caffeine buzz, and a couple hours later I have a splitting headache from withdrawal.

How do you get the butter to soak in with no heat? Or is the fresh bagel still hot?

Not necessarily. You might want to take a critical reasoning course. The shitty-pastry regional distribution center may very well vary depending on which city you're in, but that does not mean the pastries come from local sources.

A. A good fresh bagel is still hot.

B. Fresh butter tastes good unmelted. Melted butter is for English-muffin-eating pansies.

Cariboo Coffee has good coffee and not as bad as Starbucks food. I think that they are in the Loop, no?

Butter always tastes good, but if it's melted there's kinda more. And color me, um, pansy-colored.
