I agree. I thought the guys, as a whole, were much better than the women this week. I don't think this is going to be a female dominated competition.
He just has that "pop star" vibe to me. That's not entirely a compliment as I don't think a lot of male pop stars are all that strong vocally but he has the energy and seems like a boy band kid of guy.

Anwar is IT for me in this show. I listened to his song 3 times and found myself wishing he'd sung "Georgia" instead of Nikko. Speaking of Nikko and that song, why doesn't anyone tell these singers that you need as much if not more air when you sing soft than when you sing loud? So many of them are a little flat (or flat sounding -- not off pitch so much as unenergized) when they aren't belting it out.

Who should go: Travis for sure and then Anthony but Anthony could have the Claymates factor working for him, leaving Scott out in the cold.

The Girls: After the guys, this was a let down. I loved Nadia's performance last night. Janay was beyond horrible and definitely should go. Mikaela had a bad performance (sounded like she was swallowing her voice) and could be gone. The only girls I really think should definitely move on are Nadia, the blond country singer whose voice the judges love and Jessica Sierra whose cleavage Simon loved.

The funny/pathetic thing is that if those were real Sirius channels, I would listen to them. Instead, I settle for "Folktown" when I need to hear something by the Indigo Girls or Melissa Ferrick.

I pretty much agree with you. I only voted for Nadia and Carrie (blond country girl), but Jessica Sierra gave a perfectly serviceable performance. Amanda and Lindsey didn't do anything egregiously wrong, and Vonzell had fewer pitchy spots. Mikalah's song was pitched way too low for her (I guess so she could feel secure on the "high" notes at the end), and she never quite reached the bottom notes. Janay was perfectly awful (did she change her eye color?).

I noticed this, too. I think she went from a cat-like green to a more natural-looking brown. Which is good, because the cat-like look was freaking me out. Now only her singing freaks me out.

ETA: I hope that she is not this year's "John the Crooner".

So a few weeks ago, someone posted a hack in a posting board for Business School applicants to check ahead on the status of their applications. Several hundred antsy business student wannabes checked, and now Harvard says that anyone who checked on the status of the Harvard Business School application will not be accepted. Apparently they have about 119 people whose applications will now be turned down.

There are several other business schools who use the same on-line application system, and Carnigie Mellon has said that they will also deny admittance to anyone who hacked into the system. Duke, MIT, Stanford and Dartmouth haven't announced what they're going to do.

Apparently, the "hack" is something a 7-year-old or, worse, any one of us could do.

AI is real easy this year. There are two guys worth watching, Bo and Anwar. I thought Nikko was decent. Everyone else completely blows (and not in the flattering Randy Jackson way). I am done with them. Goodbye Travis, and probably Federov and a thrid guy whose name I forget. And that fat fuck Scott reminds me of someone but I cant place it.

THe chick's suck. Except for Nadia. I am done with them.

I may need to place a bet to keep this interesting.

And speaking of not interesting, The AMazing Race is really a bore this season for reasons I cannot put my finger on. It should be great, with Rob and Ambah and a couple of vicious gay guys, but it just isnt. ANy reason to keep watching this? I need to make some cuts from my Tivo bc I cannot keep up, what with Fat Actress, the L Word, DOg Whisperer, Daily Show and Letterman (who is now playing on my Tivo- I forgot hwo funny he is). Oh, and Top Model which continutes to be the best reality show and Surivovr.

Bo kills. I have gotten to like him a lot more since the start of the show. He is one of the people who improve with time. Some people never get it. But I have been an Anwar fan from the first time I heard him sing. The guys are so much better than the girls this year.
Still, Constantine is hot. They just need to bleach his teeth or something.
