Personally I would go for a Macallan or a Highland Park, but then I enjoy scotch.

I figured you for a Macallan fan.

And yet no one had mentioned Pisco until now, or cachaca, or Pimm's.

I have to confess that I will order Caipirinhas even when not appropriate (e.g., upscale pan-Asian restaurant), which is so fucking Mojito I am embarrassed for myself.

I enjoy some port. I don't really like grappa. Can't stand scotch. Too old for car bombs.

Try a Laphroaig.

Video at the bottom of the page.

And anyone who's interested can click here

And go to "A Fan's Story: Parkhead 89" for a video about the first match Liverpool played after the disaster, which was a charity match against Celtic in Glasgow. Go about 13 minutes in if you want to miss the blather.

Florida International University (I think). He's donating his first year salary to their athletic program.

I don't know why the fuck anyone would hire him. I suppose he'll help recruiting.

TM

eta: I am watching him in an interview and he just said he turned down a couple of NBA coaching jobs (but wouldn't specify--HA!). Amazing.

He said after-dinner drink, singular. I understand you're unfamiliar with the concept.

Laphroaig doesn't match up well with "can't stand scotch." He could always try Tomintoul, the 'gentle dram'...

Grand Marnier. Get a double. You'll want two.

Johnny Walker Gold. It's an after dinner scotch. Sweeter than the usual stuff.

Chopin vodka, rocks. Great palate cleanser.

cheval de frise 04-15-2009 07:44 PM

Wafer-thin mint, liquid version.

I wanted to see if he'd try it, and see how much he thought it actually tasted like scotch, goddammit. But now? Nooooooooooo.

i've always matched "peaty" with "tastes like a Band-Aid." Try not to agree the next time you have a peaty scotch.

2. I can swill Oban and Macallan if they're what's available, but I'd rather have a blend. Though I do like Glenfiddich, which I think is a single malt, right?
