You are the big, invisible Whiffersnuffalupugus in the room. You can't detect sarcasm when it's obvious and you can't tell when I'm actually agreeing with you.

I know, I know. I must take some of the blame. I will try to use more anvils.

I was watching Sesame St the other day and Snuffalupagus was visible and everyone knew he was there. With this and the Cookie Monster no longer eating cookies, that show is totally over.

It's happening all over -- at Mickey D's, the Hamburgler stopped stealing hamburgers. At least they started frying the apple pies again.

For me, that irritating, attention-hogging whiny-voiced Elmo character did it in.

I heard that the reason behind the Snuff thing is that they don't want to teach children that secret friendships are okay, because child molesters could use that technique.

This strikes me as a more reasonable and less disgustingly PC change than the cookie monster thing. That's just ridiculous. Childhood is a time for enjoying cookies. Why can't they have Grover go on a vegetable kick? If a parent teaches a child good eating habits, I don't see how the Cookie Monster can undo them; nor can the Cookie Monster instill good eating habits where the parent doesn't teach them.

I am surprised NFH didn't post this already:

'Me eat less cookies,' says Cookie Monster
Sesame Street character gets healthy, learns to control cravings

Huh. I suppose they had Grover stop smoking, too.

2 on everything except I didn't know that was the reason about Snuffalupagus. I loved Cookie Monster - though I never really thought that because he stuffed his face with cookies, I should too. Didn't make the connection.
