I will never, ever understand the sport of Cricket. I have no desire to understand the sport of Cricket. The only time I was involved in a Cricket match, I drank myself into oblivion (and the England / France rugby world cup game was on the telly on the cricket pitch with a very long extension cord to distract the drunken players) while standing in the outfield or whatever they call it of the pitch. Pimms is a mighty tasty drink.

So, I ask aside from drugging oneself into oblivion in order to avoid boredom, what benefit does doping have in Cricket???

I have much better sense than to go to the Castro on Halloween. I went once, several years ago and realized: (1) you can't get into a bar; (2) the police don't let you drink outside; (3) it is so fucking crowded you cannot control your own movement, i.e. like being in front of the stage at a concert; and (4) it is partly populated by assholes from Dublin, Berkeley, San Lorenzo, Cupertino, San Jose who are just there to be dicks. Plus, someone lets all these fags in.

I'll cop to that (when it comes to cigarette smoke, at least). Right before the ban I always said it was a stupid law -- that bars are supposed to be smokey and what's the big deal with it anyway? But now, I don't know how you guys do it.
