I'll give you Pippen and Rodman. But Horace Grant was a joke and every other player was a role player. No one benefited more from his man leaving him completely free to guard another player. He was able to secure more rebounds, get more bunnies and play less defense because of Jordan. And even then, he wasn't that great.

That said, you're right. LBJ really has nothing. Put Mo Williams on another team and he ain't no all star.

No chest thumping. No angry face to the crowd. No "What?!" yelling? He did the amazing and it was routine. Get back on D and dominate there too. You never heard an announcer say, "Michael's man beats him down court for an open lay up."

While he was a great defensive player, MJ invented looking into the camera after a great play.

No argument on the rest, but the one year b/t Ho and Rodman was MJ's seccond baseball year. So of course they stumbled.

*While* getting back on defense.

Yes. Unfortunately he plays on the West Coast, so I really only pay attention when playoffs roll around. He and Rose amaze me in that they're so young, but play like they've been in the league for 7 years.

Speaking of the West Coast, could someone try to reassure me that the Lakers will be knocked out of the playoffs sometime soon? God, I hate Kobe.

he's in the finals, early returns are in and his Q rating is too high for the NBA to let them lose.

This is not true. You just see his more than others and associate it with him. And the reason why you see his more than others is because his highlights were unbelievable.

That said, he did it rarely but when he did it, it was after something truly fantastic. Damn kids today [shaking fist] do it when they dunk on an open break (like that's a feat for an NBA player). And Lebron, Wade, Carmelo and every other younger player do it on every third score.

I wish I could. I despise him as well. And I don't think he has ever shot a ball within 8 inches of another player without thinking he got fouled. But he is so fucking good it's scary.

I actually hope they make it to the finals and Lebron shows him what Next Level is.

Unless Portland somehow gets the Lakers to freak the fuck out, I think they'll get to the Finals (sorry, ncs) and face the Cavs.

Which would be a great series, I think.

And thinking about specific times a bit more, it was *usually* directed at someone (announcers, opponent's bench, etc) rather than the camera specifically.

at the king James AAU tournament a college scout gave coaches a list of what a player should not do- celebrating a make was the number two thing, only after disrespecting your coach. that said, i don't think those rules apply to the next LeBron/Melo/Wade.

and I only remember MJ doing it when his shot led to a dead ball situation.
