Anyone know where I can get a not-too-cheesy geisha costume?

Osaka?

You'll say, the world has come between us.

We can't all be lucky enough to live in Sodom By The Sea, Siddartha. In Podunkville, my Holly Golightly costume from last year was considered quite outre.

Or, for me (since the Spree Disclosure was invented before my time) it would be like finding and reading my older brother's Rolling Stones.

Anyway, to answer your question:
  • Q: What is "Spree disclosure"?
A: After a spate of posts that included only a hyperlink to other sites, Latrell Sprewell made a new rule: if someone posts a hyperlink, they must disclose the subject matter of the item to which they are linking. This is to identify to unwary users what is contained behind the link. Past undisclosed links have been linked to sex sites and gore related sites (causing one GA to almost throw up in his office after viewing the aftermath of someone having jumped off of a tall building). A link must disclose the subject matter of the page, or else it will be deleted.

Then why isn't it a Sprewell Disclosure? Why is it Spree?

Latrell Sprewell the poster was named after Latrell Sprewell the (now former) NBA player, whose nickname was "Spree," so his nickname was "Spree" also.

However, I don't believe Spree the poster ever actually choked Sock for the Man.

Awesome.

I have been having a total stupor of thought when it comes to the grownup Halloween costumes around here. Magnus is going to be Draco Malfoy, and I spent an arm and a leg on his costume because I wanted it not to look dumb (the official licensed robes are shite). He just has to leave his glasses at home, because even with slicked-back blond hair and Slytherin robes, for most people glasses = Harry Potter. Thor is a bunny in a handmedown costume, and Freya a bee, also in a handmedown. I have the stuff to make a flower costume for me to go with the bee, but I also need an idea for the grownup party the SFC and I will be attending. Any brilliant ideas?

What about a flower child? Throw on a long vest over whatever the flwoer costume was, tie a rolled up bandana around your head, maybe find some John Lennon style glasses, pin the fake flowers to yourself, and you can transform the flower into a hippie.

Avoid the patchouli, though. No need to offend anyone.

Mad Men (Spoiler)

Skip if you haven't seen "Six Month Leave."

Why did Betty flirt with Arthur in order to set him up to lunch solo with Sara Beth? I'm not clear on her motivation in setting up a date between an engaged man and a reasonably happy married woman. Was it because she wanted Sara Beth to get some of the positive attention that Arthur is clearly giving away? Or because she wanted to trouble another decent marriage (to, we are told, an entirely blameless good provider) with infidelity the way hers was/is? Or, and I'm just spitballin' here, was it to show that she can still manipulate men with her comeliness, the way she did with the tow truck driver? I didn't get what was going on there.

Not outable

My cousin was on Dancing with the Stars tonight, with the Rockettes. After careful review, I'm 90% sure that she was the right one of the two tallest in the back row. Just in case you still have it on your DVR. And not that you would really care.

Oh, and she looks absolutely nothing like me.
