I don't know either. Does the UN pass things other than resolutions? Are UN resolutions open to a Veto from the Security Council? Was Israel created by a UN resolution or something else?

1) The first issue here is who started the war. Israel said that the Arabs were going to attack but Israel attacked first and grabbed the land. So if Israel is considered the agressor then they have no right to grab any land.

2) If Israel is not considered the agressor, then for the Golan Heights your analysis might work (because Syria has not made Peace with Israel and claims the Golan Heights). However, Egypt does not claim Gaza and Israel has a treaty with Egypt. So there is no excuse to hold Gaza (maybe that is why they left). As for the West Bank, does Jordan still claim the West Bank? and is Israel still technically at war with Jordan? Isn't that why they changed their name from Transjordan to Jordan?

3) Why is Isreal called Isreal and not Judah? I tried to Google it but couldn't find it. Does anyone know? It seems weird because Israel, I believe, was just the northern part of present day Palestine and Judah was the South (including where Jerusalemm and Tel Aviv sit now).

You were a student. You were essentially unemployed. I pay more in taxes now then in 1993 when Clinton was president, because I made about $10K that year. I was in school. Duh.


The rates would not have been reduced because Gore wouldn't have pushed it and congressmen are pussies (*with Bush, they had/have the out to blame him), if the rates weren't reduced, I would be paying more now than if Bush had won.

In 1986, 87 88 et al the naive libs were saying trhe same thing, except substitute Reagan for Bush. It's all cyclical. Except, thankful;ly, due to a few courageous Rs, Reagan and Bush43, the marginal rates have gone down and stayed close to down, despite the liberals attempts to the contrary.
