For God's sake, Zooey is singing in the shower, and you wish to denigrate this piece of art? Hand in your Fan Club Card immediately.

Her singing voice has an uncanny resemblance to Judy Garland's. Not kidding. Too bad musicals are dead.

Ok, that movie is just not funny. Not funny.at.all. I do not understand why people find it funny.

A funny movie with Ben Stiller is Zoolander.
"What is this? A center for ants?! It needs to be at least... three times bigger!"
"Merman, Dad, MerMAN!"

I like Manfred's inclusion of Kicking and Screaming. I think that movie is quite underappreciated.

Where the economy still booms.

Nevada's Bunny Ranch brothel gets 1500 applications in December, about 40% more than usual. Sounds like they've got a new storyline ready for that HBO series.

TM

Because the drag queen road trip movie entry on the list has to be Priscilla, Queen of the Desert!

ETA: I think you need to add an asterisk section for movies made before you were born. The Peter Sellers Pink Panther movies are still worth being on a Top 25 list.

I stuck to movies made in my lifetime, just like Thurgreed did. I guess for Mae, we'll have to wait for you or Not Bob to do a list.

And The Royal Tennenbaums. No one else thinks it's funny? Yes, it's depressing, but so is Office Space (in a way). Almost everything Gene Hackman says is hilarious, and any exchange with Pagoda makes me laugh.

Royal: I'm very sorry for your loss. Your mother was a terribly attractive woman.

Royal: Are you trying to steal my woman?
Henry Sherman: I beg your pardon.
Royal: You heard me, Coltrane.
Henry Sherman: "Coltrane"?
Royal: What?
Henry Sherman: Did you just call me Coltrane?
Royal: No.
Henry Sherman: You didn't?
Royal: No.
Henry Sherman: Okay...

Margot: You probably don't even know my middle name.
Royal: That's a trick question. You don't have one.
Margot: Helen.
Royal: That was my mother's name.

OK, just looked it up. Where do I find the consumer price index?

ETA: Thanks for all your help! I get $13,000. I love the Code!!! And I love calculating percentages from arcane tables of otherwise unintelligible information!!

Sorry. It's been a hectic morning. You did catch the part about spouses being able to make a joint gift, effectively doubling the exemption, right?

I always wondered where your moniker came from. It was a mystery, one I could have googled, sure, but that would have been cheating. Now you force this out?

Does anyone know how to cancel a Facebook friend request?

This from a man whose list included Elf, Austin Powers, Weird Science, and The Jerk?

Given my dual citisenship, in an honourary way, I can udnerstand this-it doesn't translate to Canadese. No offence. I watch it with a yanqui sensibility firmly in place. npi.

Weird Science rocks, good on TM for that one.

Nice story. I like this quote: "There's lay-offs in every sector of the economy. The auto workers, the big insurance companies, Wall Street... we get a lot of people from New York City wanting to come to work."

Makes you wonder, whatever happened to Multo?

Royal Tennenbaums makes my list. (As does Midnight Run, but not Elf. Or the Big Lebowski -- I'm in TM's "not sure I get it" camp on that)
