Dogs. And not your dogs. Until 15 years ago we electrocuted humans. Get over it - this is not that reprehensible. In fact, most animal agencies should support how he killed needless unwanted puppies. Sure, neutering would be better, as would if we sterilized every American with an IQ under 80.

Drowning, otoh, went out as a method of execution a few hundred years ago. And why hanging? Pitbulls have powerful necks. How long do you think it took them to die?

I don't so much have a problem with humane execution of one's own pets/animals. It's the torture that is troublesome.

That's bullshit. They say it about every team - "Manchester United doesn't play friendlies" -- "there's no such thing as a friendly match for Chelsea FC - winning is in their DNA" - "Hartlepool Juniors live to drink the blood of even their lowliest opponents in a schoolyard pickup match" - oooooh. What hard fuckers they must be. Get your tickets now - we're in for a real treat. I used to believe it (and it may have even been true at one point - though I doubt it).

I have seen Celtic play competitive games and non-competitive games. The players sure as hell know the difference and there's not a single player on the team that's going to go hard into a two-footed tackle or the goalkeeper's elbow without thinking to themselves: "will it be worth six weeks on the treatment table to say Celtic was the first European team to beat the 2007 MLS Sierra Mist All Stars?" Will it fuck.

The main players just want to look decent enough to stay in the team and the fringe players all just want to look decent enough that the coach keeps them in mind when one of the starting 11 he's already picked gets hurt. The shakeout is going to happen starting August 4, when we play our first competitive SPL match.

Chicago 1-1 Celtic this afternoon. We looked like crap again for most of the game. But last summer I think we lost every single one of our pre-season games (not including the dire 0-0 draw with Chivas DG I saw at Giants Stadium and including two thrashings by MLS sides) and effectively won the Scottish league by January and made the last 16 of the CL. So I'm not panicking just yet.

Not to mention the large scale torture of many over a prolonged period of time.

I actually don't have as big a problem with the fact that dogs were put down (although I do think that the way it was done was unspeakable) as I do with the fact that dogs were bred for the purpose of mauling other dogs to death.

So a dog is either a "success", winning 5 fights and becoming a "grand champion" at which point it's unfit to live with humans or dogs and is forced to breed and is then killed.... OR a dog is not a success, and well, yeah.

And I'd be willing to bet cash that no animal agency would support the fact that he put down puppies. They're going to demonize the fact that the puppies were bred in the first place.

My new favorite show in the world is Rock of Love. I've never been a big Poison fan, but I can actually see why some of these crack-addled, stripper, porn-star wannabes want to be with Brett, where I could never really buy into Flavor of Love because it was so obvious that 90% of the women were repulsed by Flava Flav. Brett is a horndog but actually seems nice, somewhat intelligent and insightful. Oh, and at least one of the women on this show is definitely a transexual.

I had high hopes for Scott Baio is 45 and Single but I think Rock of Love is going to be better.

Thank God Bilmore isn't here to read this.
I finally watched the first episode of this last night, and despite the fact that Bret has had so much plastic surgery he looks a little weird, this is now officially my favorite show of the summer!

The dining habits of cannibals.

Spoiler space for the squeamish....

When I read this, it reminded me somehow of the FB:
  • "The victims were prepared while still alive, by cutting slits down the back and sides into which pimentos and other herbs were stuffed. After being dispatched with a mace, they were trussed to poles and roasted over a medium fire, while the women busied themselves turning and basting, and catching the lard in gourds and calabashes, which they allowed to set and then stored away. They would eagerly lick the sticks where the gravy had fallen. Often the meal was half roasted, and then half boiled. Some of the meat was eaten on the spot, the rest was cut up and smoked and also prudently put by for lean or unpatriotic periods in the future. But there was a symbolical aspect to these banquets. They were considered to seal a military victory, to put it for ever beyond question. De Rochefort reports that a Carib prisoner, while being made ready, would jeer at his captors, saying that, although they would soon be eating him, he had already swallowed so many of their family or tribe, and was so thoroughly nourished on their neighbours and kin, that they would virtually be eating one of their own people. This kind of language would continue until the final blow was delivered. It never failed to exasperate the company, and to cast an atmosphere of dejection over the whole meal."

People post pictures of their dicks on dating sites? Are these hookup sites or actual dating sites? I don't think eharmony would be down with a dick pic.
