Gives a whole new meaning to eharmony's refrain that claims the service is better than "a picture and a paragraph."

I can't imagine too many chicks interested in a guy based on what his dick looks like.

I like the comment on that site that says something like "I am trying to imagine how this guy could have made this picture less appealing."

Men know how effective it is to do this on dating sites. Women will see the pictures and thing, "Hmmm. That looks like the cock of someone with whom I can form a meaningful, lasting relationship."

Or insane. You know that you sound a bit crazy given the fact that we live in basically the same neighborhood and my commute reliably takes less time than yours, right?* Of course, Biggie was shot in my 'hood (have I, uh, mentioned that before, like multiple times already?), so maybe you're afraid of the "urban" vibe over there.

*15-20 minutes. Not traffic dependent. Always less than 30 minutes including elevator time (at home and work).

You are magically blessed. I think it could not possibly take me less time to get to my work from your place than from my place, but maybe you live in magic land and it would?

Dear GGG,

We took a vote and we have all decided that you may no longer post here on Mondays. The loss of ad revenue traffic is starting to hurt. You are welcome to post on politics, where no one really reads each others' posts, or LWK, where the posters are just so starved for any attention that they read anything. We thank you for your understanding in this matter.

Best,

Flinty

Surely we could see right through her ruse. I mean, sure, you could fool some prison guards, but you couldn't pretend to be a lawyer on this board if you weren't. We're seasoned professionals.

I mean, let's say for example that you were on this board pretending to be something you're not. Let's think of an example. Hmmmm. This is a tough one, but I think I have one. How about a paralegal who isn't really a paralegal, but is actually a secretary. I mean, it would take a brilliant mind to have everyone here thinking that you're a paralegal when you're not. You would have to be good at it because you wouldn't want people finding out your secret and thinking that you were completely full of shit about everything you've ever posted. I mean, that would be like posting about how hot you are and how important men hit on you when that isn't the case at all, right? Who would do such a thing?

Now don't get me wrong. There's nothing wrong with being a secretary. Some of my best friends are secretaries. But why not just be who you are? It's not like lying about who you are would get you laid by the "inmates" of this board. The whole example is just pathetic and sad.

TM
I can understand why someone would want to pretend to be a paralegal. Glamorous and exciting. I, on the other hand, pretend to be someone who cares about her job. I just don't do it very convincingly.

And now I think I'm done Wonking. Carry on.

We aren't talking about getting to your work. We are talking about the awful commute into downtown. Look at your post that I quoted. I have no opinion about commuting to Century City from our hood, I just think it's odd that you are detached from reality about how easy the commute into downtown is from there.

Oh. OK. I forgot what I had posted on Friday and didn't read. Nifty! I still would not have taken the job, because I would not have had your experience to draw on, and I would have been drawing on the experience of a friend who lived in Westwood and worked downtown, whose commute was, in her opinion, very unpleasant. And if I had never moved here, or even really interviewed for the job, based on my perception of the commute, you and I would probably not really be in touch much. I suppose this whole thread might have played out the same way, and I would *just now* be learning that I could have lived somewhere presumably nice (though I don't think I can afford your building) and worked downtown, and not had a bad commute.

It's like a whole alternate reality!

My commute this morning was a 15 minute walk in the rain.

You remember what rain it, don't you?

Water from the sky? Scary.

Actually it looks like it sprinkled here last night.

I am on eharmony and another dating site (no dick pics sighted yet) and what's interesting is that I am getting contacted by a lot of ex-pat Canadians. None of them show any particular promise, except one guy who emailed me a few days ago who is pretty hot. But it's weird. There's nothing in my profile that gives any indication that I'm Canadian, but I seem to be attracting them.

I am pretty sure that on nerve.com and craigslist you can see a whole cornucopia of dick pictures.
