See, dtb was assuming you weren't an idiot. Anyone could step on a horse puck getting out of a cab. It takes a special kind of goober to step in "an 8 inch pile of loose steaming horse crap."

but what's a hurrishave?

That's why it seemed like a whole lotta donuts to be eating in 10 minutes.
If that calculation is accurate, I don't see how it's possible. 20 donuts?

taxwonk 08-05-2005 11:54 AM

This could backfire.

No, I just used to eat a lot. Like a lot a lot. My mother would buy groceries for me specially - and my grocery bill was about the same as the rest of the family's. And I looked like Karen Carpenter. People thought I was bulimic but I wouldn't puke. Just freakishly high metabolism and huge appetite.

I can actually still eat a lot. Friends have encouraged me to go into competitive eating contests because I am pretty good. I have eaten three 14-oz steaks in 15 minutes, for example. I just don't have the super-high metabolism any more, so I would get fat if I ate as much as I could on a regular basis. Plus it is not good for you and I would like to stay healthy.

Now I want to go here and try to eat the free 72 oz steak

The douchebag I've referred to actually purposefully dresses the way he does. I've been where you are. That sucks. Partner looks at you and says "What do you mean you don't have a suit? Well, get one." But it is kind of funny looking like a homeless freak in Court.
I looked like the 65-yr old lawyer who just doesn't give a shit anymore. I actually respect that guy.

Wow. I ate a 38-oz prime rib once. I could not have eaten 4 more ounces.

I was very similar. Then my first year in law school my metabolism just shut way down and I ballooned up 60 pounds (since lost most of that). I used to eat pints of ice cream straight from the carton just to consume enough calories efficently (I didn't help that I was a swimmer, and burning probably 5000 calories a day). While I don't really miss that, I miss the giant appetizer, giant entree, giant desert meals at restaurants. And the Egg McMuffins.

You can't "screw anything up" in arguing a motion by making what you perceive to be a wardrobe gaffe. You can charm a judge who’s likes your case but thinks you’re a dick or is wary of some fine points. You can endear yourself to a judge and slowly create a winning argument. But you can’t make a judge who isn’t interested interested. If she’s not curious about your argument from the get go, cut bait.

I guess what I'm saying is, don't beat yourself up about the wardrobe fuck up. Its not you; its her. Well... actually, that’s not true. It is you. But its nothing you did by wearing that suit, so you got that going for you...

How many hours did you swim if you think you burned 5,000 calories per day? And how many anvils were you holding over your head?

Heh. If you do, let me know, so I can watch. It's only 600 or so miles away. I've passed that place and the hundreds of signs advertisting it dozens of times and was curious if anyone's ever tried. Even stopped once in the mid-90s for one of their regular steaks. I have no recollection of whether it was any good or not. As far as I can tell that place and the Cadillac Ranch are the only things to recommend Amarillo. Oh and that pink castle motel. My sister stopped there once and said it was everything she hoped it would be.

FB road trip anyone?

I heard Taxwonk once ate an extra large pizza (meat lover's), then he ate the bottom of the pizza box because he wanted the melted cheese that was on it- he claimed it was for roughage.

I know!! It looks do-able. Probably deceptively thick though.
