And the DC Circuit has held that Monica Lewinsky (blowjobs and purses and law, oh my, it's on topic) is not entitled to reimbursement of $1.1 million in legal fees. Yeeaowch.

According to the Washington Post,

In its ruling, the panel rejected Lewinsky's assertion that "there would have been no investigation of her conduct had it not involved the President," noting that the independent counsel's office had argued that Lewinsky was accused of lying about her affair and perjuring herself.

The judges ruled that fee reimbursement was intended for cases in which "covered officials were investigated for criminal offenses for which ordinary citizens would not have been investigated or prosecuted." In Lewinsky's case, the panel found, "the criminal offense investigated was perjury for which ordinary citizens are routinely investigated and prosecuted."
