I rarely (except on these boards) hear people make fun of people with disabilities. That is why I asked my initial question yesterday, in fact (which started this thread). Not saying this to be argumentative*, but it is true. Maybe I've lived in bastions of disability rights enlightenment.

*everyone here knows, of course, that I would never do that.

I did what all good mothers would do. I laughed diet coke out my nose, tried not to let her see how funny I thought it was, and tried to ignore it.
