Mexoryl. Yes. I'm not sure it's illegal. Probably. I have not yet ordered the face kind I want.

It just hasn't cleared the FDA process. Apparently it's the most effective thing against the ultraviolet rays which are most likely to cause skin cancer. (UVB, I think). It's been in use for years in Europe and other places around the world. People are apparently getting it from dermatologists/eBay and other "black market" channels.

UVA, and they have in in Canada (hi Canadians! Happy one week after Canada Day!).

What I just read says its the most effective against the rays (UVA) that age your skin. But I can't find anything explaining whhy such a harmless product would not be allowed into the country. What's the down side? Its been tested abroad for 14 years. Something's amiss here, and this isn't interesting enough for me to find out what that is.

The FDA is too busy working on stuff that the drug companies are lobbying for. And defending against approving things that shouldn't be approved. Or is underfunded. Whatever.

Uh, I mean, it's a conspiracy against Shiseido and L'Oreal, because Japan and France aren't being supportive enough about Iraq.

I have no idea what the downside is. As for the delay in approval, I blame the fact that drug companies still provide pensions and administer 401k plans, and could otherwise divert the money wasted on these costs toward priming FDA officials with bribes.

It's so simple. Follow the logic: America is the fattest country on Earth. Fat looks better tan. UVA rays make you tan. Ergo, UVA blocking sunscreen makes America ugly.
