However, the fact remains that each of the Admins take the issue of deletion and censorship seriously around here, despite the false assertions of some.

Real concerns were raised yesterday regarding the edit of a Politics post. Thereafter, several regular posters threatened to leave this Board.

As it stands, we have a limited pool of participants which, contrary to our efforts to bring in new members, has remained stagnant for months. If people start to leave en masse because of deletion concerns, the entire community will suffer.

So does that mean you actually plan to do something about the editing of the Politics post yesterday, or is it just one of those "oops" situations?

False "deleted by Admins" posts serve only to spread confusion amongst the posting community, as posters begin to question the motives of the Admins and the censorship policy of the Board.

These types of posts clearly violate the TOS and in the future will not be tolerated.
This is all well and good, but it is a policy that must be applied with ubiquity. For example, a post of ShapeShifter's was deleted several weeks back without explanation and every admin or mod was questioned as to whether they did it and all denied doing so. At least Sock For The Man admitted his deletions, even if it wasnt in the most toe curling manner.

However, I suspect that since Thurgreed called you an assjoack, you won't be getting all crybaby on ShapeShifter anymore. I know how you thrive on the groupspeak.

What? The deep deep wrinkles, or the bad hair dye? You need to be more specific.

And no, those are bought and paid for.

You're overreacting, which certainly doesn't enhance efforts to bring in new members. Couldn't the problem have been solved with a simple post along the lines of "this asshat is joking, this post was not deleted by an admin" and without legalistic reference to the TOS? I have no objection to your calling SS or anyone else out as an ass if that's how you feel about it, but why do you need to use your "authority" as an Admin to do it?* We know that the PB stuff was serious, but the FB post was clearly meant to make light of it.

*Even if you think this was an occasion where wearing your Admin cape was appropriate, you don it inappropriately at other times. You have been known to sign off as "the management" in posts where all you were doing was criticizing a post for being dull or stupid.
(Not directly a response to RB, just to the situation: )

Why is it that people accept that their flesh-and-blood friends are imperfect, but go off when an internet friend does something they don't like?

Accepting that administration takes some time and effort to the benefit of all, and accepting that admins are people, and are imperfect like the rest of us, it seems pretty fucking childish to start screaming about rights and heavy hands when someone makes a quick judgment call that you disagree with. If you think he fucked up, well, maybe he did. Tell him so, and move on. This "hasta" bullshit is just that - bullshit - unless, of course, you're the type who normally jettisons friends who say one wrong thing.

The horrible incident on politics yesterday? Good gawd, it was RT, not the most unreasonable or reactionary type, and she made a quick judgment call. It was an arguable call, but it WAS arguable. BFD. Move on.org.

Those are peachy thoughts Billmoure, and would be nice if anyone actually followed them, but they don't. Look around at how the liberal rabble rousers eviscerate every single thing our dedicated Commander in Chief does. These socialist tools want to hasta him.
