I guess public empathy with retiring coach Tom Brennan only goes so far. You want to talk matchups? Niagara, a 14 seed, has a better chance of winning its game against No. 3 Oklahoma than No. 13 Vermont does of winning its game against No. 4 Syracuse. That's not even debatable.

At the risk of sounding clicheed, I guess that's why they play the games.
