The bottom line
I have been pretty busy the past few days and I don't have the time to make a detailed post so I will sum up what I would have said had I been posting. If you agree with me on [insert any political position on an issue here] then you are sensible person. If you disagree with me on [insert any political position on an issue here] you are a moron.
Anyone have a problem with that? |

Republican Majority for Choice's position (non-position) on Alito
Alito Named Supreme Court Nominee
President George W. Bush nominated Judge Samuel Alito this morning as his nominee to replace Justice Sandra Day O'Connor. Judge Alito currently sits on the 3rd Circuit Court of Appeals in Philadelphia. Today's nomination follows last week's withdrawal by Harriet Miers, President Bush's initial nominee to replace retiring Justice O'Connor In the announcement, President Bush highlighted Alito's extensive career as a litigator, arguing twelve cases before the Supreme Court before being confirmed as an appeals court judge by President George H.W. Bush in 1990. Bush called Alito the most experienced nominee in 70 years. Judge Alito has opined from the bench on abortion rights, the separation of church and state and gender discrimination and has a very lengthy record. RMC is carefully reviewing Judge Alito's record on issues of importance to our members. Our preliminary research raises some questions regarding his respect for precedent and judicial philosophy, but we are continuing to our investigation and we are already in contact with moderate Senate leadership. Stay tuned for updates as more information is released in the coming days. edited b/c the dude's name is not ALIOT |
