At least Julia Roberts has (or had) something that can only be nauseatingly described as a "star quality" or "screen presence."
It just fucking kills me now and I'm not even a beautiful, talented actress.

2. Even if they don't have personal chemistry, people are stupid and neither one of them gets an exemption because they are rich, famous or powerful. Therefore, it shouldn't be news that Katie Holmes could be in love with the idea of being with Tom Cruise. That is a level of "star struck" beyond the initial, "Hey, that's Tom Cruise!" level you seem to be recognizing.

3. You can see someone dating for their own gain? I bet that never happens with people who aren't stars.

1. All I said is that I, personally, do not like/respect Katie, the persona or whatever, as much because she is dating Tom Cruise. I don't think I was the one who even said it is just a big publicity stunt.

2. When I find out that a person is stupider than I thought they were, I generally like/respect them a little less. So you are once again backing up my damn theory.

3. I don't particularly like people who date for their own (professional/monetary/status) gain. Whether they are famous or not. Why are you fighting me on this.

4. I give up on this refuckulous non-argument, but mostly only because I have to be out of the office for a couple hours.

Did you star in "In the Army Now"? I didn't think so.

DVDs (and music too)

Since there is a minor subplot of music, can I alter it slightly? Over the weekend, I watched and enjoyed Ghost World and Donnie Darko, both per recommendations from the board. Any more recommendations?

As for music, I've been listening to the new Garbage and Martha Wainwright quite a bit, particularly the Martha Wainwright. Wilco's YHF and GIB just came back into heavy rotation. This is somehow connected to the arrival of warm weather and outdoor exercise opportunities (at last!).

You forgot Top Gun But With Irish Immigrants Trying to Make it in America. The homosexual undertones b/w Tom and Nicole are SO obvious in that one.

Sounds like you'd like Pi, if you haven't seen it.

And Bubba-Hotep. (I've recommended it before, but I'll do it again.)
