A headline that will define our times.

I'm kinda bummed that Saturn didn't make it. At least it was innovative. For awhile, anyways.

Future generations will read in wonder of a world where ordinary people could afford to keep pet chimpanzees. And Xanax.

Yet another opportunity that GM totally blew. Saturn should have been the strongest GM brand over the last two years (smallish, inexpensive and fuel efficient), but they tried to turn it into Pontiac. You really have to wonder about their marketing people.

If I happen to be, say, picking up his kid to take him to a movie (with my kid, let's not get all weird here), what do I do? Do I say "Hey, I saw you on TV!"? Do I pretend that I'm the one person who knows this guy and who has not heard about this? (Because EVERYONE has heard about this. A teacher at our kids' school told me about it. And it was played on the radio station this morning.) Do I ask him what it's like to know that there is a website, with your name followed by "sucks.com"?

Enquiring minds want to know.

People willingly watch this shit?

I wouldn't say a thing to the guy. He won't get anything out of it. Never try to teach a pig to sing. You waste your time and you annoy the pig.

Did you ever drive one? They were the darlings of the rental fleet for a number of years and I had the chance to drive several of them. They are without a doubt the second-worst vehicles I have ever encountered. The only thing that compares in quality, luxury, and performance is the Yugo.

My brother still drives his now 15 year old (I think) Saturn. It is small and not luxurious but it is fuel efficient and was cheap. He takes immaculate care of it, and doesn't drive that much, but he has still had no major problems with it. And they sold a ton of those original models.

It should have been their U.S. Opel.

I am guessing that a lot of people around here scored closer to the 50th percentile on the GREs.

50th percentile may actually be a stretch.

do we have our own percentile for midwesterners? I don't think we should have to compete with people from the coasts. it's not like they would move here.

Yeah, but as you well know, some Midwesterners have Harvardian ambitions, and would try to use the grade-inflated Midewestern entrance exams to get an unfair advantage. Still, I am sure the schools could adjust. It would not take rocket science to figure out that a Midwestern 800 is about a 550 on the coasts.

If you're so smart, why aren't you an unemployed investment banker with a mutli-million dollar golden parachute?
