Oscar Beauty

Not that anyone cares but....

Angelina's green earrings - cool. But the line of her black strapless dress over her boobs was crooked. I like the straight line of Diane Lane's dress better.

Anne Hathaway - needs to limit her makeup to liner on the upper eyes and a clear gloss on the lips. She looks like a clown.

Robin Wright Penn - she looks fantastic these days. Love the severe side part and highlights.

Heidi Klum - proving that being tan looks great, as unhealthy as it may be. Her dress was kind of weird but God her hubby is hot.

Taraji Henson - adorable. I loved her necklace.

Freida Pinto - her face is EXQUISITE.

Mickey Rourke - a horrible, dripping mess. I hope he goes back to obscurity quick.

I disagree. Beyonce is hot, but I didn't think her costume for the musical number was terribly flattering.

I'm surprise you didn't see it since they aired all 5 episodes 500 times during the network's death throes. He did indeed win. His prize was a metal, Halliburton briefcase, a GPS thingy, a knife he couldn't bring back home and a year's supply of Dos Equis he still hasn't frickin' received. And let me be the first to say, "Impressive!" (Oh wait. He also got a ridiculous dinner with the producer and crew and Daniel Boulud's restaurant in Vegas, which made the whole thing worth it).

She is a friend of the loser who won the least-watched reality show of all time (finishing just inches in front of the second-least watched reality show of all time). She is doing well, hosting various events for fashion week, doing celebrity interviews for CNN.com and various other gigs. Word is she's pretty fun and talks about her vagina all. the. time.*

This show will almost definitely get picked up. I think a number of networks are looking at it right now. Daniel Boulud's show and the one with the two poker players who bet on everything will all most likely find a home.

Question: how is milk an original screenplay? The guy claims it isn't copied from TLandTofHM? It's close to copyright infringement if he didn't have some license.

I've not watched either movie so whatthehelldoIknow, but in the abstract it seems plausible that you could construct an original screenplay on the topic. We're talking about (mostly) historical events and real people, so those are fair game. If the Milk screenwriter lifted material beyond those things, then yeah, he'd be screwed.

2. Beyonce is so hot she ranks in my top 5 beauties of all time, along with the likes of Sophia Loren et. al. But that dress was not attractive. (BTW, I hope Jay Z is really good in bed b/c he is badly mismatched with his girlfriend in the looks department).

Off topic but I refuse to see Milk b/c it doesn't mention Milk's involvement with Jim Jones and Milk's efforts to stop a family from getting their son back from Jones and exposing Jones in general. This letter is just one example of Milk's efforts. Helping enable the mass murder of thousands is part of the man's legacy, not just his being and elected gay guy.

Carry on.

-2. I really don't find her that attractive. Maybe it's b/c she's really annoying.

there are scenes in the movie that are basically identical (down to camera angle) to the documentary. I'm sure the guy who did the documentary doesn't object. I'm just asking how it could be mentioned in a category where people create the story as opposed to working from a base story. And, as an "original screenplay" it should hardly win because what he mostly did is write scenes from the doc and then tie in a few romantic subplots.

I never saw either movie, but the category that the screenplay was up for probably was based on how Milk was credited per the WGA rules.

Ah. Well, then what you seem to be asking about is the internal consistency of reasoning for an Oscar category of Original Screenplay. The Academy being what it is, I suspect that their threshhold requirement is low or inconsistently applied.

ETA: Or, what RT said.

Not even in the top 100. Give her an honorable mention. But annoying, yes.

I think it's consistently applied. Hotel Rwanda won in an earlier year.

The bar is low.

She's superhot, but not Top 5. Not even Top 10.

Sophia Loren looked scary last night.
