Weird rant. I don't know what separates her from any other pop singer when it comes to annoyingness. If you would have said her Sasha Fierce, House of Deryon (or whatever) crap makes her annoying, your rant wouldn't seem so weird. But if having her over-produced, super stylized stuff played too much on the radio is the main factor, you're just saying you don't like pop music.

I don't think she's that hot. And I don't like her as much because, supposedly, when Destiny's Child first began, her father (their manager) would ask the other two girls to tan, would dye Beyonce's hair and do her makeup to play up how light-skinned she is. They still do this. It's kind of annoying. She also sings about being bootilicious and then does interviews where she admits starving herself so she can look right.

She (and Destiny's Child) has done some great songs. Lose My Breath comes to mind http://www.muvids.com/2_video_destin...lose_my_breath as does Me and My Girlfriend http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yDkt_vWmU5k (althought that's more Jay-Z*). She's an average actress, but she's a good performer.

I listen the University of Minnesota radio station. It is quite good.

It seems like your point is that, if I listened to Beyonce I would have a more informed opinion about her music. I am not going to argue with you.

Wait, so your friend is the one who keeps her focused on this drivel? He/she should be ashamed of him/herself.

I think the fact that you and many other people know who Beyonce is means that my friend did an outstanding job.

I guess I am shallow. Totally shallow. I did not realize until your post what a mindless slave I am to whatever Radio K puts over the airwaves.

I am so ashamed.

In my case, primarily from Goldmember, in which she was hot. If I actually listened to her music I might find her annoying. Thankfully, that is not hard to avoid.

Indeed.

Though it makes me glad to be part of an upstanding and honorable profession like law instead.

on the plus side, once you have caught the Beyonce buy from Radio K I bet you can get GGG to burn you a CD for free.

He or she did not do such a great job with me, although sneaking that Put a Ring On It song in through the spin class was pretty cunning.

Heh heh. I love how music taste is so subjective. I generally find 90% of another person's playlist to be sucky and 50% of it downright annoying. I recently had a party with some folks I didn't know well and when I went to the kitchen they took out my Ipod and replaced it with their own. Not knowing their taste, I had made my playlist a mix of Stones, Marvin Gaye, Bob Marley -- who the hell doesn't like these? But to be safe, I added tunes that were #1 in Rolling Stones Mag between the years 1995-present. They replaced it with this chick's IPOD that was all Bruce Springstein and the party livened up as they shouted out lyrics. I know it's superficial but....the rest of the night was torture for me and I couldn't wait for them to leave. Meow.

I have not been to a party where people played endless Springsteen and shoted out the lyrics since high school. That was every party I attended in high school (both of them). Why were you having a party with people you do not know well? It sounds like a risky maneuver, with one of the risks being a night of Springsteen karaoke.

Maybe Diane is really a Springsteen fan but can't admit it, so for parties she invites boss-freaks rather than the Stones/Gaye/Marley
people she tells herself she has more in common with?

I don't dig Marley anymore. I still think Redemption Song is one of the best songs ever written, but college killed his catalog for me. I'm guessing a lot of people feel this way. The guy only had so many songs, and they're great, but Christ... You can only listen to a song so much before you're shot on it.
