Could you please give three or four detailed examples of instances in which "Daddy" is appropriate. None of these should contain any references to minors. Thank you.

MIAMI -- If he's interested, the 26-year-old Chicago fan who deflected a foul ball away from a Cubs outfielder in Game 6 of the NL Championship Series can find solace in Florida.

Gov. Jeb Bush said Wednesday an offer of asylum might be a good idea, and an oceanfront retreat in Pompano Beach is offering the man a free three-month stay, should he deem it necessary to get out of Chicago until the hubbub over the popup cools down.

The fan, whom The Associated Press was holding off naming for fears of his safety, would also receive free airfare and other perks, all provided by the Holiday Inn Oceanside Pompano Beach.
Also included in the offer are free steak dinners, free martinis, even a free water taxi ride.

"(It's) the least we could do for the fan that saved our season," said Phil Goldfarb, president of the Holiday Inn Pompano Beach. "As dedicated Marlins fans, it is our honor to return the favor."

If I've been paying attention, NFH lives in San Francisco, not in that dump Seattle. I know it all looks the same from the Right Coast, but there's a world of different. For starters, women are much better looking here, and smarter.

Hope someone keeps an eye on Zimmer if Pedro tries any of that funny stuff.

Neither pitcher is known for backing down from a challenge, or being afraid of finishing some business.

So which speech will Roger and Pedro get before the game tomorrow?

(1) Don't behave like an ass, turkey. You're a professional. Do your job.

(2) Just don't you start it. If he starts it, that's one thing, but don't you start it.

They're both out by the fifth inning and the decisions go to Wakefield and who?

It's going to come down to who is the most sensitive as to whether a pitch is high and inside or whether it's up and in. Roger or Pedro may not think they're brushing back, but a batter may perceive it as such and take offense.
I'm thinking Giambi's getting ready to pop a vein.

Baseball analysis

In thinking about who I'd rather have, Clemens or Pedro on the mound tomorrow, I think I'd rather go with Kerry Wood, who just went VERY DEEP. I'll be in Palm Springs by game time tomorrow, thoroughly ensconsed in terry cloth and gin, while the wife enjoys a spa treatment.

Anyways, it's always good to think about bullpens when handicapping a game such as this. Amazing as it sounds, Red Sox bullpen has been quite good this series. Who can the Yankees really use to get to Rivera? Nelson and . . . ? I think you'd see Mussina out there before Heredia, and I think you'd see me out there before Contreras. Contreras is done. Not just for this series, but probably for his career, at least as a Yankee.
Think Hidecki Irabu. Think Ed Whitson. Done.

Speaking of done, is B.H. Kim on the Sox roster for this series?

Tomorrow will be as good as it gets. I'm hoping Pedro and Clemens pitch up to form. When Pedro's on (which usually involves a regular season game in May against Tampa), nobody is harder to hit. But Pedro rattles. Clemens' one big knock has been post-season performance, but he's answered his critics in recent years. So hard to pick. If I were betting, I think I'd look to go over a short number, on the theory that one or both of Pedro and Clemens will shit the bed. Picking a winner tomorrow is too tough. It's been an absolute classic series.

Dear NFH:

Based on your posting record, I am sorry to hear that you might be considering the Garden State as your future home. Please allow me to make a cautionary warning to you. While New Jersey has many unique and diverse qualities, to be honest, we are filled up and not interested in any more residents.

Further, think of these things before you darken our doorstep:

There are far more interesting places to live in the same general area of the country than anywhere within New Jersey, for example, Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington.

Its pretty crowded already in New Jersey and your presence won’t help matters.

Relative to its size New Jersey has more paved area than any other state in the country, all at the expense of natural environs, like parks and wilderness.

With all of the cars on our 4 major interstate highways and two of the nation's busiest airports, including the rapidly expanding monstrosity known as Atlantic City International, we have lots of noise and fossil fuel exhaust pollution. And our waters are polluted, too.

In comparison to dynamic areas of the country, industry in New Jersey remains mired in a post industrial slump, I mean you ever heard of Silicon Garden? Nuff said.

New Jersey smells bad.

So please, as you are Not From Here let's keep it that way and don’t move here or even come visit me.

For our relationship let’s use the phrase, “New Jersey and you, perfect far apart”.

Yours truly,

New Jersey

ps: Hi SEC, we still have a place reserved for you.

I think Wakefield will get an opportunity to pitch tomorrow. They warmed him up today, and unless Pedro goes 7 or more or the offense blows the game apart, I think he's the guy. If Mussina gets called in as you suggest, you have the opportunity for them to face each other three times.

That could be better baseball than Roger/Pedro.
