(b) Realistically, I'm pretty much the only chick on the FB and a number of the fascist guys appear to be single. How many women do you know who are willing to date right-wing lunatic lawyers who probably have short-guy syndrome? Not many. So I think it's the lure of some kind of virtual feminine companionship.

JUST BREAK UP WITH HER and quit acting like a 12-yr-old. What, you think if you act like such an asshole that she is forced to dump you just to maintain her self-respect, people won't drop out of your life? Think again.

And if they figure out that what you are doing is making it so she dumps you even though really you want to dump her, they will think you are an immature asshole. This is a step down, not a step up, from just being an asshole.

Difficult to assess without knowing the personalities. I'd say propose, but that one can backfire on you big time.

I think there is more bad Karma to maintaining a relationship without the zing to it than there is to having the hard conversation. And more likelihood they'll drop out of your life forever if the relationship suffers before dying.

Oh, and S^2's suggestion really doesn't always work. Like I said, it depends on the personalities.
