I am currently watching Firefly. Anyone have thoughts on this show? I am only on the second episode. Is it just the one season?

My only thought is that it was awesome and I'm sad that it only lasted one season (maybe even less than one season?).

Wait till you get to the episodes with Christina Hendricks.

Just watch Star Wars, Empire and Return of the Jedi and ignore the most recent 3. It's the same with the Indiana Jones movies. I ignore all but the first two (although I guess some people like the one with Connery--I don't know why). You're putting too much thought into this. Bad movies are to be ignored unless they are so bad that the cross over into needing to be celebrated.

TM

The second Jones movie was the worst of the bunch (Capshaw and Short Round are unbearable). Followed by the fourth.

I'm honestly not sure what you would object to about the third one.

Firefly: I liked it a great deal. Two seasons followed by a feature length movie, if I'm not mistaken.

Mid-season cancellation. Plus the movie.

I have lots of thoughts on this show.

(What the fuck is this ball boy doing? You're holding the ball to waste time to give your team an advantage? Not saying he deserves to be kicked, but that's as close to deserving to be kicked a ball boy can come, no?)

I saw the second one when I was a kid and we all pretended to be Short Round when we left the theater. It may be nostalgia, but I love Temple of Doom.

I hated Connery in the 3rd one.

One short and truly excellent season. It's upsetting because it ended before it's time. After you finish the series, watch the movie (Serenity). Even if you've already seen it, you will appreciate it more.

Some people watched Star Wars as movies, just that. Other people, people who otherwise like fantasy stories, see it as part of some alt history or something. Those people cannot ignore the history created by 1-3.

I will grant you that I liked the second one a lot better as a kid. But last time I tried, I found it unwatchable.

You can always just watch Captain Tightpants on Castle. Those pants are a lot tighter now, for different reasons though.

Cool. Didn't know there was a related movie.

Here is what else I've learned. Gina Torres (who is great on Suits and who has an epic ass) is married to Laurence Fishburne! So far I prefer her as Jessica Pearlman.

I don't remember the last time I watched it.

Gina Torres rocks. She was also in Angel and Alias.
