I do run on treadmills. Sometimes. I crank them to 5:30s and bang away. It drives the joggers crazy.

And I wear speedos. I just go straight from the pool to the T-mill.

The Not Bobette is a Braves fan, so she pointed them out to me on SportsCenter last night (she also started to gloat to me about Pedro losing his no-hitter and the game in the 8th, but I reminded her that she had a request for an allowance raise pending, so she backed down on that very quickly).

Impressive is right -- they almost (ALMOST!) made me overlook the hideous red jerseys that the Braves were wearing. WTF? What is this, 1975 or something? Jesus Christ, they look like something a bunch of over-40 fat guys in a beer league softball team sponsored by Red's Body Shop would wear.

Now imagine one of them in a Speedo running on the treadmill and you slowly realize he's going straight into the pool with the sweaty speedo still on- "shower? dude I'm training for the Iron Man no time to stop."

I cannot say enough how much this "sunday/batting practice/alternative home" jerseys idea must be ended. It is an abomination, no matter what team does it. There simply is no excuse. Wear white at home, grey or a dark color on the road.

The only thing worse (and it may not be worse) is the NFL's version when they go monochromatic, such as the black shirts and pants, or the all-cerulean kits the seahawks sported.

Amen, brother. And the reason there are numbers on the jerseys are so you know who the players are -- if you have numbers, there is no need for a name. I am a bit more flexible on this one, but appreciate seeing this look -- the Cubs just returned to this, I think, with their white home jerseys.
