Yes.

It's ridiculous, no? (The guy can't even get his own countrymen to back him.) The battle has been won. By the good guys.

Everyone but the British guy says it should be "lack of strength" or "lack of depth" or "lack of strength and depth". The British guy even came to me before he sent out his e-mail to ask if I've heard the phrase. I said I hadn't, but he may want to google it.

(At least the UK dude knows I'm the answer man.)
Won't your husband become insanely (and dangerously) jealous if he finds out there's a British dude on your desk? I'm sure you're just using him as a paperweight or something, but, you know, appearances, and all that. I guess it's better than a British guy under your desk, but still...

I thought you answered this question for yourself when you looked up the word. It's trouper. As in uncomplaining member of a troupe, not indefatigable "may I see your license and registration" trooper.

Reward In Duck Killing Tops $5,000

I will personally donate $100 cash for someone to kick the shit out of this guy.

Crime Stoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the man who repeatedly ran over the ducks, police reported. Public donations have more than quadrupled the money. The reward currently stands at $5,100 and climbing, said NBC11 reporter Jonas Tichenor.

The driver ran over the ducks and threw some against or in his car around 12:30 a.m. Aug. 5 at the car wash, located at 981 E. Hamilton Ave., police said. The entire incident was caught on videotape.

Since Thursday, three ducklings have hatched at the car wash, bringing the duck population to about 15, Davis said. The ducks have been a car wash staple for the last 34 years, according to Davis.

The video is quite disturbing - who would kill defenseless ducks?

I have heard the expression in a sports context - i.e. the [baseball team] has a deep bullpen - so they have strength in depth. Something along those lines. Meant to convey the opposite of weekness.

I like to swim downstream. I am a lazy swimmer so I want the draft, but as long as they are not behind me my bad water shouldn't bother them.

A serial killer in the making.

Did you ever hear about that guy who reached into a woman's car, grabbed her bichon frise, and threw him into freeway traffic?

It's trouper, from actor/dancer - member of a theatrical troupe. e.g. someone who goes on stage despite having voice troubles or a broken leg.

My sister's dog gets rather pissed off if you don't kill defenseless ducks when he sees them. The look of disdain and contempt on a laborador retriever's face if you shoot and miss is something that I try to avoid at all costs. That and getting up at 4:30 in the morning to sit in a cold, wet blind waiting for the damned ducks to show up.

But would he want you to run them over with the car? And pick them up yourself to throw against walls?

I think not.

My labrador has only ever attacked a defenseless tennis ball. Also yellow and fuzzy, but more fun to toss.

One of mine only goes for cats. The other only goes for defenseless food that has been prepared for his consumption.
