Jeremy Clarkson of the BBC's hit show "Top Gear" has gotten Ford UK to buy back his Ford GT. Yikes. Not exactly a ringing endorsement.

spree; news article.

As he points out, it was the after-market security system and the failure of the greasemonkeys to fix it.

Not exactly the type of problem I was expecting.

If I had the means to purchase such cars, and I were in a position to bad mouth any less than entirely satisfactory cars, I would probably make an effort to have every car maker buy back my car every few months. Why not get a free 6-month test drive?

I got the impression that Ford installed it, though, as they were certainly providing support for the system.

Dennis Rodman

The former NBA star and Southeastern Oklahoma standout was pulled over and ticketed twice Tuesday while driving his gold-and-black Lamborghini through Colorado in a charity rally race, according to the Colorado State Patrol. In between he was involved in a minor crash and later accused of stealing a hat in what he says is a "misunderstanding" at a gas station in Glenwood Springs.

I have a buddy driving in this "rally" also.

Not as fun as the Players Run
There were rumors that Rodman would show up, but he didn't really commit until the last minute.

Are these "rallys" anything other than an excuse for rich people with expensive cars to drive really fast? And, presumably, by sheer numbers reduce their chances of getting a speeding ticket?

That's pretty much all it is
But not everyone is rich. And A LOT of people get arrested. The last Player's Run had 16 people arrested right before the Oregon border. Sometimes you get a police escort. That's always fun.
Plus you get to stay at nice hotels, get into places that you normally wouldn't get access to (nice yachts and helicopters). I've been told it's hella fun. It's not what I would spent $10k on, but to each his own.

Porsche gives green light to 4-door sports car
Automaker expects to sell 20,000 ‘Panamera’ models, beginning in 2009.

FRANKFURT - Porsche will invest some $1.21 billion to develop a new four-door, four-seat “Panamera” sports coupe with a sales target of at least 20,000 units a year from 2009, it said on Wednesday.

Ending months of speculation, the German luxury carmaker said management and board members had finally given the green light for the hotly anticipated fourth model line, equipped with various front-mounted engines and featuring rear-wheel drive.

Making it inevitably squirrely in the rear.

That's awesome. I'm going to start a webpage for asshole Bart parkers. You just want to beat people with a bat sometimes. Like the asshole with a trailer who takes 4 spots. 4 SPOTS! And the asshole who parked so close that I had to get in on the passenger side and climb over the stick shift. He got a footprint in his door for that. And the person with the brand new shiny Lexus convertible who parked so close that I had to door ding it just to squeeze in (fortunately it was a rental).

I'm going to start driving with a Louisville Slugger in the car.

You drive an SUV and park in compact car spaces, non? There is a place in hell reserved for you, my friend.

I NEVER park in a compact spot. NEVER. I. Would. Never. There is too big a risk for the dinging. I can't tolerate the dinging. It's just that SOME people can't aim a car, or see white lines.
