I honestly don't know. I saw a bunch about it on Twitter and in national news, but I don't know if our local affiliates ran anything. I will say that video of the kids in the classroom escaping out of the window when the person trying to get in claiming to be a cop said "bro" was heartbreaking. That was via twitter.

FWIW, our papers are still focused on the Astroworld tragedy and what's going to happen to Carlos Correa. And lots on omicron.

One of my partners lives a mile away (older kids). He has a friend with 2 daughters in the school. One girl was in the hall where he was shooting. Supposedly she was the only person there not shot. I can’t imagine how she will ever recover.

Sorry, forgot about the pay wall.

When I heard about the charges against the parents, my first reaction was, that's some unduly aggressive prosecuting, scapegoating in a tragedy. But then I read the story, and the facts about what the parents did before and immediately after the shooting are just damning. They were in the school with him that morning, saw the stuff he was writing and drawing, knew he had a new gun, and ... nothing. The gun was probably in the kid's backpack during that meeting.

I would also like to see stats on the how many kids have been shot per incident per capita, i.e. are the D.C. shooting incidents one victim, whereas the Alabama (or Michigan) incidents are 3 or more? Because that would indicate the effect of gun laws related to the legality of the type of weapon, magazine capacity, etc.

Does it make sense to imply that Michigan is a gun-friendly state? Maybe, maybe not. Either way, it does not logically follow that (a) California is not a gun-friendly state, or (b) that Less believes that non-gun-friendly states are immune from gun violence (as opposed to, e.g., believing that whatever they reap, it is not what they sowed).

Also, when I linked a summary of school shooting per state, he did not accept that Cali is a dangerous place for school and he disputed the facts staring him in his face.

Ty has my proxy. I did not say that CA was immune, and I questioned your use of raw shooting numbers, rather than per capita or per victim.

You've clearly subscribed to the old-fashioned notion that rational discussion is the best way to resolve issues. Did you learn nothing from the Trump years?

I'd suggest you explore alternative dispute resolution approaches, like belittling your opponent until they stop arguing against you, screaming word salad into the wind and declaring yourself the victor, or just firing into a crowd and calling it self defense.

This board has been a pioneer in such alternative dispute resolution techniques.

Someone at my last Biglaw posted detailed firm financials and then our CEO threatened suit on where ever the Board was then. that's when we got kicked off that platform.
