"July 19, 2004 -- If Las Vegas' mayor has his way, The Strip may soon be truer to its name. Mayor Oscar Goodman told Time magazine, "It's just a matter of when" casinos will be able to open strip clubs. The gambling palaces are negotiating with the gaming commission to get permission to add lap dances to the menu.

But as part of his effort to reverse the city's move toward respectability, Goodman, a former defense attorney for accused mobsters, wants to go a step further.
