I thought that Shaun of the Dead was hysterical.

(Incidently, IMNSHO A Fish Called Wanda is one of the funniest movies ever made.)

Dumbshits trample each other for cheap laptops. News at 11.

http://www.boston.com/business/techn...rgain_laptops/

  • A rush to purchase $50 used laptops turned into a violent stampede Tuesday, with people getting thrown to the pavement, beaten with a folding chair and nearly driven over. One woman went so far to wet herself rather than surrender her place in line.
    ...
Blandine Alexander, 33, said one woman standing in front of her was so desperate to retain her place in line that she urinated on herself.

"I've never been in something like that before, and I never again will," said Alexander, who brought her 14-year-old twin boys to the complex at 4:30 a.m. to wait in line. "No matter what the kids want, I already told them I'm not doing that again."

Lady, you brought your kids at 4:30 in the morning to wait and buy a $50 crappy used laptop and watch a woman wet herself. It's commendable to see your standards abruptly raised, but let's face it -- the climb ahead to respectability is still a steep one.

I will 2 that as well.

To be honest, I almost fell out of my chair during parts of the South Park movie. But maybe I would not find it so funny these days. Jaded and all that.

Grizzly Man was surprinsingly one of the funniest movies I have seen. Probably at least ten LOL moments if not more, and I rarely LOL at the cinema.

Leonard Cohen needs our help. Apparently his retirement fund is at $150,000, because of mismanagement. I feel very bad for him.

FOr renting I would go with

Flirting With Disaster, preferably if you have ever taken acid in your life

Living in Oblivion. This is especially funny if you know anything about the indie film world and/or Brad Pitt in his early days.

Best in Show

Today is his lucky day as I was about to purchase an album or tow of his, in some kind of strange cosmic coincidence. I am also picking up a few extra things and I may actaully remember to use the link here.

I guess her only hope is to not be so poor that she would get up early to wait in a line for a chance at a cheap computer. She should be beaten.

Me too. He deserves better than this. You'd think that all of those "Hallelujah" covers alone would have covered him. It was in Shrek for christ sakes! Sounds like the perfect time for another tribute album. It's been a few years since the last one, and I like hearing other artists' interpretations of his songs. Tori Amos's "Famous Blue Raincoat" and Billy Joel's "Light as the Breeze" are two of my all time favorite cuts.

And cuz I'm too lazy for a second post, Less, this is the Amazing Race 8 cast. I note that the GA super team didn't make the cut.

ETA: I like the set of sons-in-law, and that there's a beauty pagent trainer WITH her former Miss Louisana daughter in the race makes this look interesting. Did they pick the Black family on purpose?

2) Tivo season's pass is not picking up BB6 on Saturdays for some reason and I missed it. After 14 hours in the greenhouse, Kaysar and Jennifer were the last 2. Kaysar struck a deal with her to save him and use 2 people from the friendship as pawns to vote out James. She lied and put up Janelle and Rachel - leaving Kaysar, Janelle and Rachel pissed and out for vengeance.
oooh, why that stupid cheerleading twat. Here is Kaysar's problem. As a guy who claims to treat BB6 like a game of chess, he is only thinking one move ahead. At least four of six people will be playing for the Kaysar team. If they win, who goes up? Kaysaw again? How could he have been so shortsighted?

Thank God for that. And to think there are some who believe important law firm and salary information no longer gets discussed here.

Fascinating article. And I feel bad for everyone involved (even his agent, who appears to have jumped off the deep end).
