Agreed. I think the article covered that statement. In any case, the NFL should be responsible for absolutely everything that relates to fair play. The home team should have nothing to do with communications.

That's entirely reasonable. The practical problem is, and it seems to be what's suggested in the article, is that the home team inevitably has to provide the superstructure for the coms equipments, such as cabling, power supplies, etc. The article intimates that the Patriots either provided a bad (and unsafe) interconnection to their wiring or have built into the wiring, presumably somewhere deep in the stadium, some sort of way to interfere with the signals on the cabling that's built in the stadium.

But how hard is it for the league to go look at that wiring, using line testers and what not, to figure out if it meets whatever specs it's supposed to and doesn't have some kill switch like Les Moonves on the Late Show with Colbert (and you'd have to give the Pats credit if Tomlin had been complaining about audio from the Mentalist).

The NFL is made up of cash. They have cash coming out of their assholes. They have so much cash, Apple is like, "Damn, man. That's a lot of cash." They should have a whole arm of the league that deals with this stuff. It should be standardized and run by the league on site at every stadium. If you get constant complaints like this, especially with certain teams, spend the money and make it absolutely the same for everyone and run it. That's why you have grouped together to from a league with a commissioner and staff in the first place.

Just realized their bigger problem is this - they probably need to blame Microsoft and Bose for crappy equipment ill-suited to the environment, but can't say anything bad about their corporate "partners" so have to blame the weather and leave suspicions lingering about some low-level stadium maintenance guy who goes on twitter by @thedisconnector.

Note the Steelers have decided not to file a formal complaint: http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/13...-patriots-game

Or maybe they just think he cheated.

Clearly that's what they thought merely a few hours after the AFC CG, which is why we got to where we are, as opposed to having some sort of genuinely neutral process that might have independently looked at the facts and evidence.

I just get real mad. My position is clear.

I'm impressed that both Sidd and T expressed anti-arab-hate in the moment. David Sedaris himself, I saw him a month later reading his stories, he said, "we need to turn the mideast into a glass parking lot." of course he later reversed.

me? I wasn't blindly anti-arab, I live in Detroit for goodness sake, but I certainly wanted something to happen to someone.

For me, that day was when Howard Stern turned from a funny guy to someone whose powers put me in awe. Listen to his show from that day. He had listeners calling in from around the city and the country; amazing few hours.

Fuck you.

I meant you rejected blind hate towards Arabs that very day. Too many hyphens maybe?

Thanks for clearing that up (really). I first read it as a rejection of the hate, but then thought maybe I misread it when Sidd responded. I should have known better.

Thank you for the clarification.

I understood the phrase "expressed anti-Arab-hate" as "expressed hate, that was anti-Arab." But I'm not one of the grammar-geeks here, so perhaps I was incorrect.
