I just love this story --

Houston woman gives birth to identical quadruplets named A something, B something, C something, and D something and the family name is, of all things, Breedlove.

Very smart of her not to choose alliterative names, which is something I will never understand, given my own tendency to mix up names of loved ones (including pets) when they don't start with the same letter.

I love Billy. He may even be in better shape now than he was then. He must have a fabulous trainer. In all fairness to Diamond Dave, Billy's been off the stuff since his accident years and years ago.
And this pic reminds me how much I hated the Honey Drippers.

did the secret route to IM fuck up your ability to access PDF webpages too? My computer is crap ever since the 2 weeks I had IM (IT is diligent here). Needs to be cleaned off and reloaded I think. For now, my secretary prints out PDF webpages I need. Ugh.

What makes you think DLR is not "off the stuff"? Other than the occasional post-show joint on the bus, he has been clean for a long time. He has a great trainer as well. Plus you have the whole EMT thing. Other than having DLR's personality, I think DLR is doing a great job considering how long he has been rocking out.

And other than still doing the kicks onstage. Hopefully he keeps an EMT friend or two on staff when he tours. I keep waiting for the hami pull.

Lots of apps fuck up Adobe for me. Deleting Windows Journal usually solves it. Installation of QuickView Plus will also screw up Adobe.

interestingly (or not, really), regular Adobe is fine for me. It is only the Abode-formatted webpages that freeze up my computer. It is remarkable how many Adobe-formatted webpages there are out there. Everything useful*, it seems.

Thx to you and Burger. THis is my work computer, which is totally locked down for me. I can't install or uninstall. I can only call IT. Last time I called them to fix my Adobe problem, they miraculously added IM to my computer (only to have it removed overnight a week or two later). I need to call again, but I haven't made time yet, so the status quo must be somewhat tolerable to me. Or I'm irredeemably lazy. Is that a word?

  • Courtney Love, possibly using the Live Through This album cover for inspriation
  • Generic 80s hair band hanger on, knowing that I can have fun with her hair and own pleather jeans and still has most of my jewelry from the 1980s
  • Generic 90s grunge hanger on, knowing that there may not be that many people taking advantage of the flannel and jeans look that dominated the era and it will be very easy to pull off
  • Generic Lilith Fair type. Though I'm not entirely sure how to do this.

Janis or Courtney. Grunge was too self important to be funny; the 80s are overdone and Lilith Fair... well, I can't think of how tht could be funny. I guess you could tie a serious drunk on and wail "I dowanna wait... for our lives to be ovvvvver..." Nah, stick with #1 or 2.

VH all the way. Rhymes with "lookin for a moonbeam."

Billy Squier is "Everybody Wants You" not "Some."

Plus, "You" is in C major and "Some" is in G major (actually the relative minors of each, but whatever).

Women and Children First [edited woops]. It's the song in Better Off Dead (I think) where the hamburger comes to life and starts dancing when John Cusak was working at the fast food place.

Keep the bastards working the problem well into the night.

I can't stand inane IT lockdowns.

A few weeks ago, IT announced that "for internet security reasons, as well as system reliability, we are removing all browsers other than Internet Explorer" from work computers.

I can't download or install ANYTHING, and I used to be on the IT Security team. Frankly, I think it's a waste of resources to have IT techs wandering the building to install the latest version of flash or work out a simple bug that could easily be fixed by uninstalling and reinstalling a program, but my compliants fall on deaf ears.

Security, you know.

My old general practice firm was REALLY strong on cross-selling. The non-IP guys got big credit for bringing in IP. One business guy calls me in for a "big new potential client."

Guy had recorded every Star Trek and was selling copies of the collection on ebay. He's busted. He tells us he's living with his mom, and even her TVs were confiscated. He can't afford his own place.

How many reasons can you list for not taking the file?

One of the best movies of all time. But he loses at the end (granted he only had one ski) because he starts the race first and they finish virtually tied. That always bothered me.
