8GB model - $599
4GB model - $499

available June. With cingular, I would guess $200 discount for a two-year contract.

Again, not unreasonable. It must use flash, as opposed to a HDD.

Right. Looks like a nano-type approach.

At one point they planned nanos with more capacity . . .

Flash chips greater than 8GB are not that cheap yet. Hell, there's a ton of Stevenote to go. Maybe we'll get them yet.

Nope: prices include 2 year contract.

Will be branded ATT

Exclusive will apparently be multi-year.

Ouch. I can see how you arrive at the price point: Pearl + Nano=~$500. But still . . . (then again, my 15GB iPod (3G) was $400 . . . )

Especially with the $50/mo data plan you'll need to take full advantage. Talk about revenue streams--each unit is ~$3000 or revenue over two years for cingular.

BTW, I bet Cingy rolls out a iPhone specific data plan that is ~$30. BIS costs $30, I see no way they go more expensive for this device.

Does all of the Beatles music during the keynote suggest that the Beatles will be on iTunes?

New base station as well

Got lost in the hype. Nice specs, though.
