What's the top prize this year? $8 million? That's a lot of money, even for the pros. Add to that the endorsement deals, etc. Plus, I think a lot of the pros just want to win for pride. Most of them describe the worst day of the year as the day they get knocked out of the WSOP.

How about bar bills?

Too bad all this "Tiger Woods of poker" stuff is going to be totally out of control if he wins it all. Is it just because he's a young biracial guy ? It's not that like that's that rare these days.

You've (presumably) got TITS. No amount of cheap dry cleaning in the world is worth giving up TITS for. All we can do is occasionally indulge; you get to fondle them all day. And don't even get me started on the other stuff.

In the tournament? Yes. As members? I have no idea.

I don't wear cotton shirts other than tee shirts because they are too much maintenance and it seems the sleeves always shrink to the point of unwearableness for me (long arms I guess) after one wash. I don't iron clothes either, though Mr Man does daily. I am not the dapper one in my household, apparently.

And TM, I bet my bar tabs rival those of anyone else here. Mr Man and I each pay about half the time we go out and we go out a lot. A lot. But we don't have a drinking problem, why do you ask?

Agreed. If I recall, the last 15 years they've invited the publinx champ. Not short enough a period to back away from the policy now.

But the issue with the masters is not with letting women play in the tournament (none have qualified), it's that the club doesn't have female members. It was the same thing with Lee Elder (I think it was)--no black members, but he played in the tournament (and Shoal Creek, and every other club at some point). It does expose some hypocrisy, but it won't resolve the issue. Wie can play, as women have before as guests (including, I think S. D. O'Connor), but they still can't become members.

Watch him not care about any of that if Burke sends him a public letter demanding she be invited if she wins.

I can vouch for this. You're still coming to ACL, I hope.

Let's talk lifetime percentages of times you drank for free vs any other man here. If you're with somebody, you shouldn't be accepting free drinks from other men (unless you and the Man are robbing those suckers blind). And it's gotta be percentages because you win on sheer volume.

We know this. But Hootie said they were discussing admitting women years ago, but wouldn't do it unless it was on their own schedule. I would think that if Wie wins the PubLinx, that it would be the perfect time for him to make it public that they have accepted a woman member. He looks like a hero and he can pretend he did it on his own time.

Being allowed to play in the tournament vs. being admitted as a member are clearly two different issues. But a woman playing in a tournment at a course at which she is prohibited from being a member is what really highlights the issue. Isn't that what got the ball rolling for black members?

My percentages are skewed anyway because I'm former restaurant industry. This is an entire other basis for receipt of free drinks (bartenders like to take care of their own kind). Alas, I'm also a serial monogamist (hi gwnc!), so I haven't had overly long periods of time to be out drinking on single guys' tabs. Stupid Girl.

So, overall I guess I've gotten more (percentage and total) free drinks than you. But I'm willing to bet my haircare expense has been 1000% (this is a low guess) or more higher than yours over the same period (unless there was some Michael Jacksonesque straightening period that you care to divulge).
