This. Not worth saving a couple of bucks to drag bottles all over the planet.

Not to mention you have to check your bags.

Ty - If you have a few ideas, check prices locally. Then see what's on offer, and buy only if a good deal. My impression is you rarely find anything hard to get in a DFS - it's usually mainstream stuff, although sometimes expensive mainstream stuff.

My MIL likes a vodka not available in the US, so I often buy that to get in her good graces. If I could get a deal on an expensive scotch, I'd do that, but it doesn't seem like they're passing on the savings from any duties not assessed.

No duties, but also no competition.

Except for all the liquor shops after you leave the airport.

Long-time listener, first-time caller (on this board) here. Next Tuesday I will be in downtown Toronto (first visit) for a morning business meeting, followed by lunch. The only direct flight I could get back home was at 9:20 PM, so I will have an afternoon and early evening to kill. I'd appreciate any suggestions for one or two interesting things I can do in the afternoon, and somewhere good for dinner (any cuisine will do; not picky). Thanks!

"Pope Francis drops new track from his rock album."

Word up! Aw man, I've been waiting for the Pope to drop a new track for like forever, you know eternity-style.

Wait, what?

This is old school's old school.

Actually, no, that would be Grandmaster Flash's Gil Scott-Heron.

This is old's school's old school's old school. Old School^3.

You and I don't sometimes disagree on music. In the (holy) spirit of reconciliation, I make two points:

1. The background singer on the Pope's rap sounds pretty hot.

2. I came across a 1966 cut of Tina Turner singing River Deep Moutain High. Damn thing is supposed to have been a Phil Spector promo, but it looks like it was shot in 8 millimeter. You can draw a pretty straight line from Tina Turner to Beyoncé. And for raw, pour it all into the song and leave it on the stage, I'll pick my contemporary, Ms. Turner. Here it is:

Hockey hall of fame. CN tower.

Couldn't find any good food when I was there last year.
