This is awesome. Because this weekend, I watched 2 episodes of The Nine on my iPod on my way to Boston and totally drained the battery.

Makes the iPod not very effective as an alternative to the DVD player.

Word to the wise: back up frequently
 
The HDD in my 3 year old G4 PowerBook died yesterday. I do a weekly backup so I only lost 3 days or so of crap, but let this be a lesson to you: back up your computers!

a friend of mine bought a MB Pro the same day I did -- 12 30 06-- identical to mine -- 15 inch w 2.33 and 160 GB HD.

He has fried 4 hard drives and is getting a new computer. So far I have been OK. I think that he moves it around while the disk is asleep -- supposedly a no no.

I bought a MB (non-pro) as a replacement. I actually much prefer the smaller chassis.

This sort of confirms my theory that, while Macs in general are good machines, every so often they send out a lemon. When that happens, you're fucked. It will never work right.

They have determined that there is a relationship between shitty BMWs and work at the factory done on the days after drinking holidays.

ETA: it's basically an iPhone, complete with WiFi, but without the cellular radio. Killer...
